How about actually fixing how retardedly binary Zed is against immobile casters?
I shouldn't go into a game knowing that no matter what I do or build, there's no way for me to stop his all in from killing me short of having the jungler sitting in my lane 24/7 (which I can't control).
With the current state of damage, his combo is literally more than my max health with just a Serrated Dirk.

I routinely get matched against Zeds, and even the good ones can't do much besides roam if I'm not playing stupid. At that point, if you've pinged, roaming is out of your hands, and has nothing to do with Zed. If an unranked player like me can counter Zed with obvious item and spell choices, are you telling me a plat 3 can't?

Vel'koz's wave clear range with only W is 1050. Zed's poke range is 1550 (900 for both hits). Zed's all in range is 1250.

Lol. So you're saying he can reliably poke you with one shuriken if you're careless (which, for those who don't know, does very little damage. You need two to get anything serious out of it), and all-in you to death before you can drop 600 gold on a stopwatch, and somehow summoner spells don't even factor? XD

I don't know the exact details of the game but while Zed was the most fed, there were definitely other champions on his team that were doing very well too.

Vel is different to other poke mages as his kit has true damage meaning he ignores nullifying orb (direct Zed vs AP buff btw) to some extent
But focus on wave management, vision control, items, trades, cooldowns and levels

Scuffleboard1 votesI play plenty of Vel'Koz. You have to be very careful not to overextend or get caught out. Stay further back and he shouldn't really be able to do what you're describing, plus you can still get a lot of damage off from long range. Unless he has way more mechanical skill than you, you should at least be able to avoid feeding.
And yeah, Zhonya's is a good idea.
