Was Camille's Ult A Variation Of Fiora's Scrapped Ult During Her Rework?

I remember a rioter saying an idea of Fiora's new ult during her rework was to challenge her opponent to a duel where only they can fight. Obviously this was a completely broken concept; ulting a Janna would just be too cruel of gameplay. However, Camille's ult makes it so only the one ulted can't leave, the enemy champs knocked away can reenter the "arena". It this an example an ability that didn't make it into a champ's kit but was a basis for a new champ's kit?

Camille's ult follows a similar thought process to some of those old Fiora ults, it's not one of them directly though. The variations on that theme we tried with Fiora were both longer duration and much more exclusionary. In Fiora's case it was about creating a situation where no one could interfere, in Camille's case having your team save you's very much part of the expected counterplay.

I don't understand how Fiora's ult has any aspect of "creating a situation where no one could interfere".

they had a concept when they updated fiora to where she would take a champion and they would go off of the map and have a 1v1, and the winner would get some kind of buff or something like that

it got scrapped because she would just ult the support in a teamfight and take the easy 1v1 and always end up on top

it could have worked if they had just basically copied Legion Commander, and let both teams interfere in the duel

Isn't this just a better Jarvan ult though? Any thoughts on implementing similar mechanics for Jarvan? or perhaps just a grounded mechanic?

Edit: sorry nevermind, I was not aware people could walk back into her ult after being knocked away. I didn't read the ability well enough.

No, it's not, because everyone else can enter it at will after the initial knockback.

they both have their strengths and weaknesses.

There's definitely some similarity to J4's ult, there were a number of ways we felt we could keep the two distinct though:

J4 - AOE, upfront damage with a large ratio, terrain that continues to block others, CC immunity while using

Camille - Single target, knocks other enemies out, can be re-entered, on hit steroid, brief untargetability while using

Camille's ult is an AoE but it only traps the player you targeted, while Jarvan IV's ultimate can trap the entire enemy team as well as his own team.

So have thousands of jarvan players emailed you about this topic of fixing his ult yet? Kinda seems cruel to give this to her when they have been begging for it for years.
