My Teemo Items Guide

Hello everyone, I'm a 400trillion exp level 9 Teemo main, and I'd like to share some of my item sets. Some of this is general knowledge, some is my own crafting, some I learned from the best teemo players in the world, other bits are silly and for casual/entertainment purposes.

Teemo is my favorite champion because as simple as he is to play, there are a wide variety of possible items and play strategies for him!

Keep in mind each section here is not a 'build', they're pools of items you can pick and choose from, though some sections are near-complete builds for different purposes.

I will include full example builds afterward!

Here are your basic and starting items. Teemo's strongest positions are definitely Top, then maybe Jg or Mid, but you can try playing him anywhere. It can work.
I've watched some of The Rain Man playing Teemo and tried his Doran Blade start, it feels pretty effective and is a good option for any Teemo maxing E first.
You can buy almost any kind of boot depending on the game and what you're doing. But I rarely buy Mobis or Cooldown boots. My favorite boot is usually Swiftness because I like the constant move-speed.
If you're playing Jg definitely go Bloodrazor. Jg Teemo has a stronger on-hit build than in Lane due to Bloodrazor, but Runic Echoes just makes you a weaker version of AP Teemo IMO.

Here's your AP items. I've noticed rushing Haunting Guise can be very strong in lane. If you're playing a mass-shroom, map control strategy, first item Morello is a good idea to keep you fueled and drop shrooms as fast as possible, especially in mid lane. With points in your Q and a lot of AP, you will be chunking people hard unless they can shield or heal through it. Your shrooms continue to scale and become huge threats especially after Liandry's Torment is finished. Full AP is good for Shroom / Poke / Ambush strategies

This item pool is very important to Teemo because he works so well with Attack speed, you generally don't want to go a game without one of these unless you're doing FULL Max AP builds. Nashor's tooth is perfect for high-AP builds, Runaan is good for everything else. If you're running a hybrid build of any kind, Runaan is very good, you can also conserve Shrooms from waveclearing.

Of course Teemo can easily build with 3-4 of these items at the same time, in a full On-Hit build which is extremely powerful in the mid-to-late game or in extended fights. Here Rageblade and Wits End are core items. Wits End is always good in this build regardless of any MR or Magic Damage. You reduce MR even if they haven't built any and are always amping your own damage. A coach for Korean Teams, LS, says this is one of Teemo's strongest builds.

This item pool revolves around AP items with actives or Procs that can add burst. With enough AP and Procs Teemo has 100-0 assassination potential on squishy targets. But you can pick up just one of these if you want.
Hextech Gunblade especially is one of the premier, most powerful items on Teemo! Kite, chase, heal, burst, mixed damage, all in one package. And Revolver is a very strong rush in lane.

Teemo does not sacrifice much by picking up beefier items. In fact it's a stronger strategy to go "tank-mo" in many situations. It also bolsters your team-fighting a bit by allowing you to throw yourself into skirmishes, go harder and be a nuisance that the enemy has to devote resources to stop. Your base-damage in extended fights is still good, your blind is always good, and a defensive rush in lane can help you survive really bad match-ups and stay relevant throughout the game. This is a favorite strategy of The Rain Man when he plays Teemo.
Frozen Mallet is a VERY GOOD Teemo item, goes great with Runaan's!

This one is a bit silly, okay, but it works. Teemo IS a marksman. I'll go over this more in the examples...

Okay, let's just get it over with...

This is a 100% crit build. Take Fervor of Battle and start here. I like getting both Statikk and Phantom Dancer first because it's fun, and because Fervor and E make up for it kinda. But the beauty of this is that your 5th item could easily be your first item, Hextech Rush is more standard if the matchup calls for it. Hextech could also be replaced with... almost any other item. Teemo is awesome.

Smell that? That is the smell of melting champions. Every shroom that doesn't get swept can be a game-winner on it's own. 40% CDR, TWO PEN ITEMS (+ boots). Play it right and your enemy may never see a Dragon or Baron.

Flying Teemo.

Pretty standard Jg Teemo, and- oh, there's Gunblade again!

Finally, this is my personal favorite build, courtesy of Hang Sim from Korea. I love this build, and feel it's as close as Teemo comes to having a 'standard' that can be built in almost any game. And that's because it's so versatile, with different build orders, different 5th item, different boots, etc. You can build Hextech first, you can build Frozen Mallet first, you can build Liandry's first, or even Zz'rot Portal. It has everything Teemo wants and is well-rounded for all purpose strategies.
