How many Challenger players are there actually?

It seems like every single Challenger streamer and LCS pro has 2-3 accounts in Challenger. With that in mind, how many challenger players are there actually?

99% fake players or players that got lucky extremely early in the first season of the game, there has to be a hard reset every year, or this game will exponentially become more and more shit every year, golds can beat masters/challengers, its much worse at lower/ semi-high ranks than high ranks ATM due to the amount of people that can easy hit this rank. Much less chance of actually winning in lower ranks than higher ranks. I guarantee you everyone in the game will be playing against you then your teammates will blame you.

Tell me if this is makes sense to you or is a profitable way of calculating elo:

  1. Lower the chance of solo carrying (fervor nerfs) x
  2. Lower the chance of jungle carrying (jungle farm) x
  3. Time goes on, more people than the industry of boosters ACTUALLY plays the game is being produced due to rioters unfairly banning non-scripting legit community members and people quitting the game selling off accounts. x
  4. Allow exploits / drop hacks (screenshot if asked) / packet floods / external scripters / scripting mmr boosting teams to EXIST in games.
  5. Soft reset every year

It doesnt make sense you'll always be stuck. Riot is a ponzi scam,.

Challenger/Master players get reset to Plat every single season. There is no 'dumb lucking' your way into challenger.

got lucky extremely in the first season of the game

Yeah that comment describes your stupidity. MANY players somehow got challenger in s2-3 by abusing broken shit and are now all the time between dia 5-challenger every season because you will almost always end up somewhere in plat with all master/challenger players. Early on they just swarm up with all the master/challenger players and then stuck in dia 3-1 for eternity despite not being better than a current gold 1 player.

got lucky to challenger lol

5 lucky streaks and ur out of diamond maybe ur right about luck not being a factor when you're supposed to lose sure but you can still get lucky and win yes it exists. id rate the 10% players under constant cold streaks under dia right now to be better than 25% of the challenger scene, assuming they dont script

think about it there is literally 0 risk for scripting a low ranked account, the players you are against are essentially machines/bots that play better, mechanically move, and execute lane camps systematically 10x better than human players assuming they also dont script (for the entire match)

Your comment is as confusing as a ponzi scam, that's for sure.

WORDS AND SENTENCES. Use them well.

then how did you drop from diamond 5 to gold 1 if once you get in the top tier you will always stay there

He got boosted to D5 then fell back down to his natural habitat.

I would have to say 100-400 actual players per server, or even lower. 0.1% of the playerbase is challanger so I doubt there are anything more than 2-3 thousand in total across all servers.

I said actual players, referring to those who fluctuate between master and challenger often.

I am highly doubting the challenger players actually have 2-3 accounts in challenger each. Too much upkeep work needed to keep that many accounts in that high of ranking.

They do. It's not even a secret or anything.

People like Wildturtle/Doublelift got initially known for having 3-5 accounts in challenger at a time _______________________________- Poll: Do you run Flash on D or F?

To be technical, there can only be 200 players in challenger at any time. ( that is what challenger is, the ladder ranking for the best players in that region ). But master series is another story, since once you enter master tier, you can stay in master tier long as you don't drop below 0 lp.

If any lcs member has more than one account in challenger than most likely its a 1 time thing. because the rate of decay for challenger is really fast, and that would mean they would have to make both accounts there main priority. With that being said, I do know some challenger players get really high rank on there main account (1-10), and not wanting to risk a loss, play on another account instead where they also reach challenger there as well.

But if you are ever curious about who is currently in challenger, here is a leaderboard ranking you can use https://na.op.gg/ranking/ladder/

It updates pretty regularly, so don't have to worry about it being accurate or not

just realized I never answered the question. To be honest, I don't know, but I would say if you want to compare it to anyone who has ever been challenger, maybe 350+ per season. But if you want to know how many legit players are there at a time, I think 180 is a safe number ( if you want to count smurfs )

Lol its not. Its very common

TheDangerousTaco1 votes

can we get some examples? cause I only know of a few last season that did. ( mainly arc second, with his smurf arc minute ), but this season he is in masters

The rate of decay isn't really that much. You just have to play one game a day, and you can store up to 10 games to cover days you miss.

If you're someone like Bjergson playing 10 hours a day, it's not that hard to keep up with it on 2 accounts

Probably close to 150.

Splitgrips1 votes

if you watch LCS players and Streamers most of them Duo.. if they took away Duo after plat they wouldnt not have the same people there.

420 grams2 votes

You can't duo in challenger.

Splitgrips1 votes

i was talking about leading up to it

420 grams1 votes

Most of them stay in challenger though, they don't purposely get demoted so they can duo.

a lot of challengers are streamers and as a primary source of income they are essentially getting paid to play thus they have a shit load of time to play more and even moreso with grinding accounts to challenger as the queue time ramps up significantly. overall i'd say there are ~150 consistent challengers and the remaining 50 are alternates/people who don't play enough just yoyo-ing between master and diamond.

Viocie1 votes

probably about 150. theres challengers with 2-3 accounts, and theres boosters as well

I think "Neck Tilter" said some truths. I think that riot's "fair elo placement system" is a scam I am f*** good. And i get matched with 0/9s 4/15 and so on... When i feel determination i feel like it is worth to do my best. But then again i get matched with 1/7s and 0/10s there is nothing to be done... Its messed up its very messed up. It is a luck based game. Teams dont even listen to the simplest "all mid" or "regroup" calls . Climbing is impossibe. There is no player that can carry 200 games 1v9. Its all a lie. (or luck based) Thats why i enjoy normal games rather than ranked.
