What if garen could chose his mark himself, but only change it twice in a game?

upon first leveling his ult at 6, he could select any of the 5 enemy champions (give it some large radius) to be marked as the villain. this will probably usually be his lane opponent.

the enemy will be marked for the remainder of the game, or until garen choses a new target at either level 11 or at level 16, when he ranks up his ult to rank 2 or rank 3. this will probably be a different priority target in teamfights.

i just wish we could get rid of the semi random nature of the mark. just from spectating games on the pbe, i can conclude that its going to be useless at least for half the game.

the mark also doesnt jump immediately to the next strongest champion, while his current mark is dead. he just doesnt get one. he also doesnt get one when, there are no kills on the enemy team by the time he ranks up his ultimate. at least this part could be fixed.

the point of the mark being on the villian is supposed to give garen a choice to go for the villian who may not be an ideal target or to sacrifice not having that bonus damage by going for somebody else. It defeats the purpose if he can choose it himself.

the problem with this choice is, that they nerfed the rest of his kit to shit, when he doesnt happen to fight his mark.

he lost most, if not all if his ability to stick to his target with the nerf on the silence and the addition of the slow on the spin. he generally deals less damage against non marked targets, and they removed the tenacity on his w which will make it more difficult to get in range.

I'm defending the concept of the villian as I like that but as for his other nerfs those could be subject to change hopefully.

Personally I would prefer a way of locking the mark to a target, rather than picking the target myself. Being able to set up a gank on someone without having the villain change before you get the kill would be a huge help.
