Riot let "spacebar" be used as a combination hotkey
CTRL and ALT can be used in this fashion, but my key config makes it a pain to use CTRL being able to use spacebar instead would be really helpful.

Agreed I'd love to use space to recall rather than b or T (what icurrently use)
This would interfere with typing unless they did something special for it, which seems like a waste of time. You should consider getting a keyboard (or gaming keypad) that has customizable keys.
Myself, I use the Razer Nostromo, and I swapped the Spacebar and Alt keys and made its scroll wheel B for recall. If I used it for other purposes, it has automatic profile switching depending on what game I'm in.
