I'm soo glad that Fiddlesticks is getting that buff that he needs!!!!!

....a new passive means that if Fiddlesticks stands still for a moment, he'll gain a movement speed boost!!! what? No applause? sigh ok enough of me being a sarcastic asshole. I am glad that Riot is deciding to look at Fiddlesticks but frankly this is NOT what Fiddlesticks needs. This is a really bad passive, perhaps even worse then his current one and the only advantage that it gives Fiddlesticks is when he is ganking, which pretty much solidifies him as a jungler. Remember when Fiddlesticks was a mid-laner and could also play support? This new passive doesn't really kick middlesticks and supportlesticks out but it grants a good buff to junglesticks.

I can't find the article but there was a fully completed community made Fiddlesticks rework that hit the boards awhile back. It came with a 3d rendering of a visual-update, new lore, and changed some abilities as well. Let me tell you what I remember.

Fiddlesticks becomes a melee champion with ranged AP abilities.

New Passive (2 parts):

Part 1: Every time Fiddlesticks hit an enemy with an basic attack or an ability, he applies a stack of Dread to the champion. Dread does nothing by itself, but if a champion reaches five stacks, they become feared for a second.

Part 2 (my favorite) Counting Crows: Every once in a while, Fiddlesticks collects a crow, activating this passive. The next time Fiddlesticks plants a ward, he drops the crow on top of the ward, granting it additional vision and placing this passive on CD. Whenever an enemy approaches nearby the ward, the crow flies off, fearing the champion, but also revealing the ward for a duration.

New Q. Fiddlesticks throws his scythe in a line doing magic damage to all it passes through. If this ability applies the fifth stack of Dread to a target, the champion is feared for twice the duration.

Besides that pretty much all the other abilities were the same. There was some limits to his W,E, and R so that they don't apply Dread stacks too quickly. Let me explain why I love this rework idea so much better.

1.) the VU looked SOOOOO cool 2.) Part 1 of his passive was based around fear, was great for those who could reliably land skill shots, but was also limited to having to apply 5 stacks, meaning that if you aren't good enough you will have to get to auto attack range to get the fear. 3.) the special interaction between his new Q and his Dread passive means that when fiddlesticks starts applying stacks to you you know to start moving around to dodge his Q, which would become a very vital part of his kit. 4.) the second part of his passive is a new mechanic that gives more power to wards without being overbearing. It is great for all of Fiddlesticks intended roles (Middlesticks can watchout for and avoid ganks, supportlesticks can grant more vision and delay tatics to their adc's/team and junglesticks can ward his jungle more effectivley and maybe delay invades).

To be honest I think that Riot could have taken this rework and copied and pasted it into their game files and it would have been just fine. Granted there might be some tweaks made, scalings nerfed/buffed, cd's increased etc, but name one champion that got released/rework and didn't almost immediatly need tweaking in the following weeks?

if someone could find the original post and link it in the comment section I would be so happy :)

now to sleep.

EDIT PART 2!!: The above picture is NOT the 3d model the community came up with, that is the model that Riot used for the Twist of Fate trailer. HERE IS THE ACTUAL MODEL (https://cdn0.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/000/666/100/large/shawn-brack-gmfiddlesticks.jpg?1443930318)

ummmm...wtf? Where are you getting a 5 second fear from? The target is only feared when they get five stacks of Dread applied to them, and the fear is only for 1 second. It's similar to Braums passive. Just because Braum has to get four stacks of concussive blows on his target to get the stun, doesn't mean that his target is stunned for four seconds.

I think you mis-read something

His Q would double the duration of the fear to 2 seconds if he gets the fifth stack from it.

It feels like it's more of a buff to Lane Fiddlesticks but a sort of nerf to jungle Fiddlesticks because it makes him even more of a one trick ganker with his ultimate

Please explain? I kinda get that since he doesn't have his Fear on his Q any more that his ganking would suffer as a junlger but I think he has a slow on his Q or something like that.

I agree. You can use W, channel for a bit, cancel and walk forward quickly, casting terrify and bouncy crow, and start your w again.

its not a nerf for either jungling or laning.

its a good change. fiddles gets movement speed after using his drain which means he can run faster to the next camp. it will improve his overall clear speed.

he automatically gets movement speed on top of his ult, since he has to stand still to channel the thing, which helps him chase down feared targets while his ult is running. what does removing his old passive effectively mean?

it means slightly reduced damage. if thats a problem, it can be tuned with number tweaks on the damage scaling of his abilities.

see where im going with this? people always overestimate the impact of damage, and underestimate even the slightest additions of utility can have to a champions kit.

That render looks like what they used in the cinematic. I don't think it was meant to be in-game.

You are correct!! Sorry I was very tired at the time that I made this. After more searching, I stumbled across the art (https://cdn0.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/000/666/100/large/shawn-brack-gmfiddlesticks.jpg?1443930318)

Still no sign of the rework though :(

I suggest we swap Malz new passive with Fiddle. 1 second of being immune to cc and damage would be huge and would impact his ganks and all other play styles. You just have to stay back wait for your passive then engage. Improves his play style and game play and you can play around it.

What do you guys think.

Plus it is way to op on malz. Fiddles E doesn't stun. Plus I have sean the play style of Malz getting a speed boost after your ult or after you combo would be positive for his laning faze and in the late game.
