Support Quests - Some Feedback

So I've played all of the support items now with their new quests, and here's my overall thoughts on them:

Relic Shield Line - This new quest is fantastic. It feels fun and quick to get cooking, and the reward is fully worth the efforts. A permanent, recharging shield is just fun and a great way to add some durability to it's users. It feels good, and it had a visible, satisfying impact in the game.

Spellthief's Edge Line - This item has a less punchy impact. It's slower to charge than the shield, and it's payout to me is extremely lackluster. I feel like 50% movement speed on hitting an enemy just isn't noticable, nor do I feel like mage supports who typically take the item really need it. It isn't as satisfying as the Relic Shield quest.

Ancient Coin Line - This item got reworked to the point where I feel like it's completely useless now. The coin pickup mechanic, while touted as "engage, be aggressive, allow opponents to punish mistakes," is entirely contradictory to the supports who typically take it, and it's too easy for opponents to punish you for collecting them, even if you're not making a mistake. The quest is incredibly slow to finish, and the consumable item is lackluster in that it omits your ultimate from what you can plunk the new point into. Support ultimates pack punch, more so than another rank in their basic skills, so this item does not feel like a satisfying reward for risking your life constantly in a coin drop minigame.

These are my thoughts. The clear winner to me is Relic Shield, and I think the other two items need more work before they're even remotely as impactful as that item.

I haven't tried the coin or spellthief line yet (I'm a tank supp player) so this is finally what I have been waiting for. Those damn mage supps are already powerful enough without buffing their items too. Just my opinion - your mileage may vary.

Hint: Try the coin line on AP tank supports.

I bet you'll like it more.

It feels great on them considering most of them have mana problems, the only thing I don't like about it is the lack of combat stats and missing the healing you get from relic shield means you can only pick it into non poke comps.

Not gonna lie though, tank supports are already good at towerdiving and doing it with the extra movespeed from item 3069 feels amazing

I agree with the Shield and Coin - your pretty much spot on. I have no idea why they thought that would make Coin more appealing, the payout is just awful. Maybe if it always gave you a rank in your ultimate, regardless of your level? idonno - something big needs to change there.

I think you are completely underestimating the Spellthiefs change, I expect it might even slip into mid meta, if players can find a way to charge it. It's insanely good.

Maybe, Beyond cap CDR.

So many items give CDR now, I often find myself overbuilding. 5% isn't enough to feel good imo. Champions may seek the extra CDR but mostly it will just be a few seconds.

Even if Coin let you rank Ultimate, I wouldn't like it. Maybe if I could rerank it at level 11 into the max form, but just a slightly earlier rank is useless. The quest reward just seems too temporary. Maybe beyond cap CDR. I sometimes build over 40% because CDR is on everything these days.

Frostfang is a fine quest. I can really notice the speedboost at times.

Coin feels better now, really. I feel like I'm getting a bit more per minion. Some details into its numbers (how often do they drop coins? How long do coins last?) would be nice, though. At least now I can do more as Soraka than occasionally Q->W
