Just a tip, if you lose bot lane tower early

DONT COME MID LANE AND TRY AND SHARE CS OR PRESSURE MY TOWER

It does nothing, and sharing cs between a mid and an adc is worthless

If your argument is that there bot lane is mid, well, IF YOU PRESSURE BOT LANE AND PUSH THE WAVE TO THERE TOWER, WHILE I CLEAR WAVES, where do you think they are going to go?

Please just stay bot lane and ask jungler to baby sit you until you take down your tower.

Once a bot tower goes down, it makes it extremely risky for either adc to extend because the area behind outer tower is wide open to jungler ganks. Unless you can hold your tower against your enemy mid laner, the enemy adc, and probably their jungler, you're going to need your adc in your lane with you.

let the wave crash your inner turret, farm it, and begin pushing the wave past river. You get more free farm, because their bot lane has to risk pushing so far. Ward the Tri bush, and try to get scuttle to avoid a gank from behind. And you can begin pushing the turret.

Only problem is that if you've lost your turret it's often hard to get enough map pressure to take scuttle.

In a premade you can rely on your jg/mid/supp to help out, but in soloQ there's no guarantee that your jg isn't going to keep camping top.

You still have to farm a safe lane to get CS and XP while it's building up to crash. What do you do? Stand in the jungle dancing?

Plus a good enemy AD will crash it when THEY want so they can pressure the map elsewhere while you're pushing the wave out.

You have to balance both, anyone worth half thier role will rotate down to smack you while you're pushing up on the turret, even with scuttle and wards, if your that far extended you're free food Imo regardless.

Vision doesn't stop ganks. If you don't have a nearby tower to fall back onto to dissuade an all-in and the junlger/mid rotates bot while your extending, all wards are going to do is give you a few seconds of heads-up before you're collapsed on, and if you're outnumbered and losing lane, it's usually certain death.

I agree, it basically depends on the mid holding that 1v3, or 1v4 and the bot heavily warding to not be open to ganks, which they might not do, being either bad or tilted. All these upvoted posts disagreeing with such a tip and yet the op is upvoted even more. Doesn't make sense.

1v3 or 1v4 is unrealistic, but most of the time 2v3 or 3v4 is fine to hold the turret. Ideally adc should freeze bot while supp roams to defend mid (jg too, if needed).

That's the risk you'll have to take. Get wards out and play smart around risky corners.

The OP is right.

If it's early in the game and someone doesn't farm the wave balanced in front of your 2nd tower it'll gradually push out. This is due to early reinforcement from your nexus. This causes wave imbalance in favor of your side so your team starts to lose significant farm overtime as it moves out while the enemy gets a giant pile and also an option to freeze that lane as long as they want. If your team just ignores a lane like that and splits resources mid you might as well just FF to be completely honest. The first mid tower is important but not actually quite that important to bleed an entire lane of cs out for minutes on end.

This is somewhat mitigated by the minion strength snowball mechanic which was actually the entire reason that was implemented. It's actually meant to be anti snowballing as professional and high level players began to completely abuse this mechanic to full extent. It's simply way over the head of the average player though and Riot never really tried to explain it clearly. But the wave still behaves the way I described unless the level and tower difference is simply insane.

If you lose lane you need to keep your weak ass away from sapping your other teammates and try to recuperate from your own gold income. It's your mid and junglers job to at least lean towards your way so you can push back out at least near the half way point. By pushing out you sooner encourage your fed lane opponents to go back bot.

Situations like this is a good reason why mid lane champions with powerful waveclear are almost mandatory in competitive play though and by extension normal play too if you simply want the best chances of winning.

supp main here, adc players never have a functioning trinket button on their keyboard. And 3 wards + 1 red isnt enough unless i only ward bot lane

I didn't realize all midlaners could just waveclear 1v3 Not to mention their jungle will also probably be mid and then its 1v4 and they can dive you with ease

So, their supp and jungler count but ours don't? 2v3 or 3v4 is much easier to hold, while the adc farms bot to catch back up.

Unless the wave is under the inner turret, an adc can't farm a damn thing bot lane alone in this situation without giving up 300 gold.

Due to the minion pushing changes that happened last year, if the other team's average level is higher, minions will push slightly towards the lower leveled team. It also depends on the adc; ez or cait is probably safe to farm. Vayne, not so much.

It depends on if the Mid laner can reliably wave clear, forcing the enemy bot lane to commit to risky tower dives. I would think the ideal situation would be for the ADC to freeze the lane on your side of the river while using a couple wards in your jungle to avoid getting flanked. This should allow them to farm safely while the enemy bot lane has to either waste their time mid (or top if mid is too good at clearing waves) or risk overextending in the bot lane. I would think the support should try to match the enemy bot lane rotation since they wouldn't be robbing Mid/Top of CS.

AMYS GRAVE5 votes

If your bot laners lost tower first, then they have probably died a couple times, and they can't stand toe to toe against the enemy bot lane without dying more. By not rotating and trying to extend the laning phase they often die again. Do you want 1/12/1 combined bot lane scores? Because that's how you get those bot lanes.

Çhåryzård4 votes

Or how about the support comes midlane to make sure you dont die in a 1v3 and the adc pushes bot to get cs and solo xp?

Because I always find that when me and my adc DO stay bot and push, the midlaner dies to the 1v3 and then bitches and moans about how we should've come mid to help them. Can't have it both ways, which is it?

This times a million. Even worse if top lane is losing a 1v1 hard. Then it's pretty much GG (duh).

On a side note, if the ADC and support roam mid after losing their tower, there's nothing stopping the midlaner from roaming bot and collecting the free CS.

You have a valid point, but you're not explaining it well cause you're mad.

ADC should freeze wave outside of tier 2 tower and farm. Support should ward jungle and roam to help protect mid or bot if necessary. If enemy team is seiging mid, ADC should hard push bot wave, watch map, and either rotate mid or continue to push depending on what is happening on the map. Jungle should also try to stay in bot jungle or around mid lane as much as possible to help protect these weaker lanes from ganks.

In 90% of my games though, this doesn't happen. The ADC continues to play as if their outer tower is still there, not warding or anything and getting constantly caught. Or the support sits bot with the ADC despite constant "go mid lulu" in chat. Or the jungler decides this is the perfect opportunity to steal the enemy blue buff while the enemy ADC, support, mid, and jungle come bot to kill the ADC and use the wave to take the tower. Or the top laner doesn't even think to TP after seeing the enemy support, mid, and jungle in mid lane while the enemy ADC is trying to solo tower dive our behind ADC and instead just plays as if we aren't losing now bot inner and mid outer. And mid is constantly complaining, "there's 18 people in my lane, someone come help me" with the immediate "DON'T TAKE MY CS" afterwards.

Your option is to either tell your teammates this in chat, or let them do their thing and play around it. Tell bot to freeze lane. Explain that a freeze means you need 4 more enemy minions than ally minions. Explain that you'll ping or something when you need help and that the ADC should otherwise to farm.

If they don't want to do that, then you can rotate bot and do that instead. Yeah, your wave clear is wasted when you're freezing a lane, but you'll be further ahead and maybe be able to make up for your bot lane not following some simple instructions. Or, since you can clear waves fast, just keep pushing the wave into the enemy tower and rotate mid while it slow pushes back. This'll force the enemy team to either send someone to respond to it or lose more CS/XP, which benefits your team.

The "MY TEAM SUCKS" excuse only works so far when you don't do anything to try and overcome their issues. Yeah, you can't stop them from trying to 1v5 in the enemy jungle. But something this simple is something you can fix easily yourself even with dumb teammates.

In that situation as ADC, I only rotate away from bot if the minions are past the corpse of my old tower, because then, even if I see them coming all the way from behind my team's red, I still can't escape in time from the gank (they will cut off my retreat). So it's extremely foolish to stay at that point, unless they are clearly focused elsewhere (which is fairly often, and in those cases I will crash it against their tower at least, if not, try and take the tower).

Random rotations: In professional play you've probably heared this line spoken a million times. "Well they have the Trinity Force powerspike and they're moving to the midlane to siege it down" What this translates to a lot in games. Is for whatever reason my adc and support leaving behind their tower at a random point in the game. To go to my mid lane. To "help" me siege down the tower. Expected result? "I'm a strategical mastermind and we'll get the mid tier 1 tower, I'd be in the LCS if my team didn't hold me back!" Actual result: Lose your own tier 1 bot to the enemy adc, lose the entire bottom lane farm (a third of your income, from minions) to share the gold in the middle lane between 2 carries and the exp between 2 carries and a support. And the joke is you'll often not even get the mid tower because you either can't dive it with a janna support or the enemy midlaner is a viktor that just E's the wave and looks at you like you're crazy.

SzGamer2274 votes

This says "don't abandon bot tower to try and siege mid". We're talking about if you don't even have a bot tower to abandon because it's already gone.

It's also funny because whoever wrote that is saying that there will either be an enemy Viktor or an allied Janna support, and the jungler apparently doesn't exist. XD

Mogarl2 votes

The exact specifics don't really matter. the comment still reinforces the op's point. Don't do dumb rotations. If you don't rotate mid to "help" your midlaner you can be the adc that takes the tower on the adc that rotated poorly; instead of the adc that's "helping" your midlaner.

If your midlaner can't wave clear then how exactly is you being mid going to help? If you're so far behind that you can't ward up and cautiously farm/push bot then how is making it a 3v3 going to make it any better? If your midlaner has low wave-clear then they are probably an assassin. If they are an assassin then they would much prefer you pressuring bot and forcing the enemy bot lane to walk back down through the river you've gained vision of.

Depends you/your midlaner can 1v3 and hold off a wave, and usually they can't, because usually they're going to go mid and try to take YOUR tower.

Yes, YOUR ADC, on the other hand, should freeze the wave and catch up on farming, while his support should be the one going around helping and defending around.

I absolutely hate when my adc goes mid after we lose our tower. The enemy team has a bit better control over dragon, but while that is down you have more opportunity to gank their adc when they push, or more opportunity to pressure when they try to leave.

It doesn't make sense to group up if you've lost lane hard early on. You're damn right the mid laner doesn't want to fight a 1v3, but you can typically pull their bot lane back by pushing hard and backing off when they start coming back.

On the other hand it's 1v3 and the enemy jungle might just gank mid and take that tower asap too. The mid laner will yell at us either way; it's really a lose-lose situation.

NoobTangerang1 votes

you split bot and maybe catch their dumbass adc off guard if they dont go mid. That's literally how the game is supposed to be played. When bot tower goes down on either u guys swap.

RogueWill1 votes

If both turrets are down. Adc goes mid and the mage goes to a side lane. If only one turret is down, adc usually go top and then top is send bot to catch the waves. If adc is so behind that he has to remain bot catching waves, then support moves mid (or jungle) and look for plays. Isn't that how rotations are supposed to work?

6lack Superman1 votes

I agree man.. I've had 3 games back to back where my bot lane gets smashed, and then they come run mid.. I mute all so I don't even talk to them.
