Most fighters/bruiser can go toe to toe with him assuming he's not fed. All the duelists in this game can just beat him outright.

As a mage, use your CC buttons/bait his shield. Just kill him if you're playing someone like Vlad, Morde, or Rumble.

As an assassin, depends on who you're playing, but you can do your flashy bullshit and outplay him that way, as kit-wise he's relatively straightforward.

As a tank, CC him and press /laugh. He shouldn't be able to kill you unless you're trying to stand there and duel him for some reason. He has to fight on your terms at all times.

As an adc, don't stray from your team ever. Stay close to someone with hard CC/peel at all times.

Those are exactly the counters. Assassins are made to kill off squishies in unfair 1v1 fights. They'll even split-push specifically for the sake of forcing the other team to split up so he can assassinate someone. If you don't stay close to a buddy (preferably someone with peel) and you're someone he can kill quickly, he will kill you.

You can't survive against him if you intentionally do everything you're not suppose to do.

As a mastery 7 nocturne i can tell you that the counterplay is that you have to end the game in the first 20 minutes or you can pretty much go afk because you fall off so hard that you break the floor and keep falling and falling forever.

Dont overextend when he has his ult and could be nearby. Same way you deal with most junglers.

Fight him. Most champions just out damage him or they have an excape to use right after nocture uses ult. Nocturne only has one play ult a solo adc who doesnt have an excape / cc aka none of them only adcs with ult self peel is worth going after

there is no counterplay to a snowballing/ahead nocturne besides grouping its so stupid his ult needs a longer cd all of his core items have cdr attached to it he has it up most of the time

Heh, Nocturne's been like that since his release. He's supposed to cause Paranoia and discomfort on the map. That's his thing.

Have someone cover you if you're the target, buddy up when you suspect he's coming towards you.

because his kit has relatively low counterplay micromechanically. He's only useless because people can group up.

He has two skill shots, on fairly high cd, no hard gap closer outside his ultimate (also a long cd) and his burst time early/mid is forever. Also you want to counterplay his ult? He can only ult to you if he can see you, his ult doesn't reveal enemies, so if you're getting caught out it's because your vision control/awareness is not where it needs to be. Grouping up is not the only way to deal, he's also real kiteable, especially if you can dodge his Q, and bait out the W.
