I think with the changes RIOT has introduced over the last year to year and a half, there is no way to salvage the direction LOL is taking. It has gone from a game that was enjoyable and fun to play to a game where every classic hero get's remade in some manner that fits a competitive scene, ensuring that everything is 'leveled' in a very boring way.

This may make competitive play less variable, thereby increasing the reliability and predictability of the money they make on tourneys, but what they fail to be understanding is that overall if the enjoyment factor falls, no one is going to care to watch these tourneys in the long run.

This is the problem with games like these, because they are games. There is no culture built around them. Unlike basketball or soccer, it won't sustain itself if the sport becomes boring to play.

I think the biggest mistake RIOT makes on a constant basis is reworking old heroes instead of just creating new ones. Balances are one thing - changing base mechanics is foolish. And with patch 5.16 where they completely destroy the classic juggernauts, it is yet another move in the wrong direction. This patch, however, is one of the largest and most visible mistakes I think I've yet seen them do.

Well said, seriously on point. RITO's gonna see their #LCSBIGPLAYS turn into #LCSBIGLAME ...... it's already headed there, actually. Gnar
