Seriously, burn flash or whatever you have to do. Sums for sums and forcing them out of lane is worth.
But do not expect your jungler to do everything for you. I'm tired of going to gank as Udyr and then I run up with bear stance but my bot doesn't do anything to help. Seriously, please use your abilities and stun them so I can stun them.
Goes both ways. I'm a jungler, sometimes they should wait for me to start it, sometimes they should start it.
"Be aware of the situation" is more appropriate. I've had laners losing and try to start the fight, instead of waiting for me to start it. Then they die before I can even engage and throw a fit.
But sometimes its better for the jungler to get fhe first stun. Udyr has a point and clkck stun so you cant miss it
Someone like 
has a very dodgeable cc. So risk missing and gank failing or loose a little bit of ground for a guaranteed hit?

PSA back: However, if I don't set it up (e.g. because I am pushed under tower, have low health etc.), don't gank mindlessly anyways. I'm not mad if you are cancelling a gank, but I am mad if you greed for a gank and feed my lane.
