Xerath Passive

So Xerath is a Siege Mage, the long range artillery like Ziggs. Thing is siege mages, like Ziggs, are supposed to be careful early game with their poke since it can eat up a lot of mana. So why does Xerath get to be able to continuously sustain himself with a free Q every minion wave due to his passive? That's supposed to be a Siege Mage's weakness until they can get an Athene's/Morelleocon.

Personally I'd change it so that hitting a target with a spell grants him true vision of the target for 3 seconds. This would reward Xerath players for hitting those long range Q's and scoring consecutive hits with his ult while making his laning like every other siege mage. Would also allow him to reveal Twitches, Rengars, Kha's etc.

How does that sound?

Imo Xerath's weakness is that, because of his passive, he has high mana costs and so needs to go into AA range to gain mana back. During that time is when he's more vulnerable in lane.

they like the sustained poke because the counter to that is all in ziggs can beat the all in with his W whereas xerath stands there and takes it

True. No escape would allow sustain in lane I guess.

His passive is fine as it is. He has to use a laggy auto attack to activate his passive, and I know from first-hard experience that Xerath can be punished for doing so.
