Normals matchmaking is a complete mess.

I am getting matched against plats every other game and even some diamonds. When this happens, I just have to hope I get carried which usually doesn’t happen. I nearly always lose lane because of my inferior mechanics.

Yes, this is a struggle especially in pre-season - many plat/dia players do not play ranked as they want to test stuff thus they start playing normals - and seeing how normals do not share MMR with ranked you will suddenly find dia players with a silver normal MMR in your game which is obviously unpleasant.

Sadly, there is no fix to adress this so I am afraid that you will just have to deal with it. I suggest you either put on some music and take the game lightly or try to learn from it.

??? of course u can fix this ... just take your ranked mmr for normals and it would be fine ... there is absolutly no fun in playing games with 4 different tiers in 1 Game ... silver, gold, plat and diamond players should not be in the game at the same time ...

i am a gold player .. i rather wait 5 mins to play gold players and not fucking diamond players ... even if both teams have silver, gold, plat, dia its bullshit because the team wins where the dia player snowballs faster

So what youre saying is that 90% of the population would not be allowed to play with their higher elo friends during preseason because they are not able to que up for with them in normals now? How is that fair to the higher elo players that have real life friends that they cant play with due to grinding ranked and their friends are hard stuck bronze silver gold. Or what if the higher elo player is playing with his friends and teaching them a few things during the game to help them in the next season as its the only way to see how they play in real time? At that point you are hindering the game more than letting high elos que up with low elos. Due to you limiting ways for players to progress. While I get your frustration and what not, you pay to much attention to someones rank, than actually worrying about the game in and of itself. If you would not pay attention or look them up you would have no idea what they are and just play the game as it is. You would feel less nervous and pissy. Hell you might even be surprised by the outcome of your own play if you did. But getting a league player to change their view on something or mental attitude towards the game is like teething as a adult. Ultimately you should spend less time being frustrated by this fact, and concentrate more on what these high elos are doing that you're not. Their movements, ward placements, rotations, trades, wave manipulation, when to shove when to back off. I mean i can continue to list things you could be looking at to improve yourself by playing against them. But I mean theres a 95% chance you'll reply with something that you find justified as to how this isnt possible or how your way is still the better of the game, when you know deep down what i say is correct but will never admit it. Which is fine. Just food for thought. Mind you im a gold player as well, well gold 5 which is really silver 1 lol.

Its never 90% ... a gold 1 can play with plat 5 like nowadays but a bronze 2 should not be on teh same team with a plat 3 .. i dont care if u cant play with your friends if the elo discrepancy is too large ... u can play flex ... but no reason to have 4-5 different tiers of elo in a normal game. For me its much more fun to compete with someone in the same elo. and it doenst matter if i dont look what the elo of the normal player games are but when mid goes 12-0 in 11 minutes something is wrong. For me its absolutly no fun to play games which are over after 10 mins ... remember season 3-4 where there was a real lategame ... this preason pick a early game champ and snowball = gg

They're never going to change the fact that you can queue normals with anyone. It's the only queue without a rank restriction

That totally obliterates the group of people I play with. Some of them would probably start inting in ranked matches so they could play with their friends again.

That's not even a joke, I'm pretty sure this would create a lot of inting in ranked matches in the short term.

No you can't because then nobody could try stuff in normals. Another issue: people could just troll in placements so that they get bronze and then continue a 100% winrate over like 50 games because them stomping normals doesn't affect their normal MMR. Or another issue: some people play little ranked so they too would end up roflstomping despite not having ill intentions. Or another issue: people get boosted and then proceed to ruin normal games for high MMR.

? of course u can try stuff in normals but against your own elo ... or does a diamond player need a bronze as punching bag

and about the mmr .. a high ranked mmr plays with my system in normals against high mmrs .. the ranked mmr is used as starting point of the mmr rather than starting with normal silver 5 elo while being a diamond player

The problem is that some Dia players play like Gold when they try stuff. Also: imagine the queue times for Dia normal games. Things would be absolutely terrible. Finally, you really need to adress the other issues that I mentioned.

I cant imagine that many diamond+ players are playing normals at any one time, especially outside of pre season , the queue times would be insanely high for those people of you used Ranked MMR in normals

By reading this post , I remembered a match 1 week ago , the enemy team had 3 from diamond and 1 from plat and 1 from gold 1 , while my team were 3 from bronze , and a silver 5 and me from gold , I laughed my ass our bronze yasuo main was 3/0 against a diamond guy , but we lost the match because of our bronze bot were overfeeding the enemy's diamond bot , cmon xD dia vs bronze is a huge difference .

It was the same last season, they didn't give a darn :P Probably now it's just more evident because of the new broken stuff and snowballing elements.

The worst part is all the diamond players are so unbelievably terrible.

Because they dick around and bullshit because "It's just norms, bro; it's okay if I buy 5 Essence Reavers on Sona and just dance in mid lane for half the game"
