Why you're stuck in bronze.

Hallbuster··2 votes·974 views

The truth is, most people that can't climb out of bronze not because they suck, but because they're not playing the right champions. God forbid, the support and jungler position is most likely one of them. Both contribute very little to the game and really can't help a garbage doomed team. So what do you do? Pick top, mid, or bot and play a hyper carry. A fed champion, that can carry the game by himself. Most mid lane champions are considered hyper - carries as seen here although there's a few that aren't listed:

https://dotesports.com/league-of-legends/the-top-10-mid-lane-champions-in-competitive-history-5691

I personally started using Annie to climb, made my way to bronze 2 and got stuck. Why? I got counter - picked, with these champs: Lux Xerath Syndra Orianna too many times. All of them work against her short range. So what did I do next? I picked up a new champion Cassiopeia that goes even with the champions listed here. I expect to hit silver in another week.

Meanwhile OP is stuck in Bronze 2 with a 20% mid win rate after over 500 games making posts about why others are stuck in Bronze, as well as ignores any logical argument towards him. Rammus OK.

I read your post, of course I could climb with Annie if I was equally as skilled as AnnieBot but I'm not! Tell me how I'm supposed to win, when these champions are picked half the time: Lux Syndra Xerath Orianna Galio Kassadin .

P.S I've seen Lux go mid more than half the time, it's more of an understatement than anything.

CC them and kill them. None of those champions you listed have NEARLY the same AP Ratios as Annie, so you're getting outplayed. They're not countering you.

Lux is only able to hit you with her E if you can dodge.

Syndra cannot hit you with any spell other than her R (you can Zhonya's this or use your E to mitigate the damage).

Xerath cannot hit you with ANY spell if you can dodge.

Orianna cannot hit you with ANY spell if you can dodge.

Galio cannot hit you with ANY spell if you can dodge.

Kassadin literally kills himself by walking into you. You have limited range with your R/W, however most of Kassadin's damage comes from him Riftwalking (R) on top of people and attempting to one-shot them by rolling his face across the keyboard after that.

Hallbuster1 votes

Certainly possible but easier said then done. Excluding Galio and Kassadin, none of their skill - shots are easy to dodge for a short range and immobile champ like Annie.

Especially when it's timed right before you go for the CS.

For Lux the key is to know that if she just spams her E at you from max range, she'll burn her mana before she can kill you. She has to proc her autos from E to make it mana-efficient so if you keep the right distance, you can still farm.

If you keep a VERY sharp eye on her Qs you can dodge them pretty consistently (once you get used to reacting to it); its one of the slower skill shots.

At level 6, if she has no MR, its a free kill for you with Flash.

Hallbuster1 votes

The problem I'm making with Q is neglecting it's range. Instead of dodging it, I back away and take it unfortunately.

WitchQueen Annie1 votes

Generally, you always want to back off in a random diagonal direction. It makes it harder for them to tag.

They'll generally fire a spell straight at you, so if you back, it will likely still hit. Diagonals are better.

Hence why your Q refunds mana - so you can use it to farm from a safe distance. Her AA range was nerfed a while ago since she outranged by such a wide margin. And when easier said than done, "just do it." Practice makes perfect. Critique your own games, Riot made it very easy to do so with the replay tool. Watch your movements and your opponent's to learn from it.

They're going to time it right when you go for the CS, just as you should do to them. It's all about lane presence. You mentioned you picked up Cass, however you have yet to take her to Ranked. Your only game with her you had a KDA of 0:00 with a 0/9/0 score. Remember that Ranked and Normals have separate MMR.

Hallbuster1 votes

I will keep this in mind.

I'm reluctant to try Cass in my ranked games until I have mastery 5 on her.

Ive read alot of this guy's posts. I often end up just regarding them as questions rather than a statement of fact on his part. It makes them easier to read and helps me respond in a healthier, more productive manner.

Annie bot is in challenger from using annie only, so I don't think that's why you are hard stuck in bronze 2. Also, jungle is the easiest role to carry from.

Hallbuster1 votes

All lanes feed, blames jungler.

Hallbuster1 votes

I forgot to mention, it took him 1960 Annie games to reach Challenger(got this information via Reddit). Do you know how long that equates to? Years!

PlsCheckThisBush2 votes

Let me remind everyone of the quality of posts, knowledge, and skillset coming from the OP:

{quoted}

I look at my minimap every 5 minutes. I can't always keep an eye out when I'm trying my best to last hit. The time it took him to gank and die was approximately 10 seconds.

???????????????????????????????????????????????

That being said, Annie is absolutely fine to climb with. She has an extremely basic and simple kit that works wonders. She is often suggested as a go-to mid laner for new players to learn the game. Annie Bot is in Challenger as an Annie OTP as others have stated. Annie has an absolutely amazing kit for solo-queue, she specializes in mass-AoE-stuns and damage with point and click. She can absolutely delete an entire team of 5 when played and positioned well. Very few other champions offer this. She also has a pet that protects her, provides a built-in Sunfire Cape, avenges her own death, and a shield to lower incoming damage and reflects damage back (also applies to her pet!). Take a wild guess at who else does this Rammus . A tank. Annie also boasts some of the highest AP Ratios in the game, adding to her burst. Practice her Flash -> Ult stun combo in practice mode to get comfortable with it.

LOL you just made my day. Thank you.

Syndra xerath and lux lose to annie not the other way around. Learn to walk around skillshots.

annie tends to lose those because range. How's she supposed to get anywhere near a Xerath who's chunking her down from across the lane? Looking at the champions themselves Annie can just get kited. Of course, these things can be played around as an Annie.

that and the fact that she's really immobile

Hallbuster1 votes

The 2 comments above me are correct, the third one is wrong.

The only champions Annie is good against are assassin based.

The truth is, most people that can't climb out of bronze not because they suck, but because they're not playing the right champions.

The truth is, it doesn't matter what champion you play. If you play something considered OP then yea you'll climb but you aren't really getting better at the game, you're just abusing something that's hard to play against. Let's say I play someone off meta such as Swain mid and I get "counterpicked." So what? I've already gotten what, like 200 games on Swain so chances are I already know how to play the matchup. If you're relying on counterpicking to win your games you aren't getting better and will soon fall.

The best thing you can do to climb is to just pick one champion and keep playing them over and over again into every single matchup.

Hallbuster1 votes

Immobility hurts, if you've tried playing against Lux using Annie you would know that there are some scenario's where taking damage is impossible. I've had half my life bar shaved when I was already running away from her lucent singularity.

Lol people certainly can use the wrong champs tho, spectated a friend's ranked game, god it was bad. His team was zyra top and sona mid, that was the worst of it, then they had shaco jg thresh support and draven adc, they had pretty much zero waveclearing, and the just got stomped, so yes there is such a think as making stupid champ picks in select, but thats just one example where peoples game knowledge is lacking and it keeps them stuck in bronze.

Hallbuster1 votes

Exactly, I'm not saying you should try and master 10 different champions trying to climb but relying on one just doesn't work. There are cases where you're champion gets banned, picked by someone else, and most of all countered. It doesn't matter if you have 200 games with that champion, if your enemy counter picks and knows all your champions weakness, gg you lose.

i don't think you're in the place to tell anyone why they're stuck in bronze xd

I have a friend stuck in bronze, that played support for 2 years. She never made it out.

Here's her profile: https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=elisabet

Annie can beat most of the champs you've listed (definitely Lux). Xerath may be a bit of a problem maybe.

Farm until 6 then summoner 4 Tibbers... its free kills in Bronze (later on though, they may buy MR). The only problem with Annie though is that you are COMPLETELY dependant on Flash for plays (unless you build Hextech). But if during laning your Flash gets forced out by a Gank, you can't play make until its up again.

Cass is decent but Viktor is better (more team fight AOE nukes and CC). You should look into him.

Hallbuster1 votes

I've used Flash + Tibbers to secure kills before, it's certainly helped. The problem I have facing Lux is her e, by the time you move away from it, you've already taken damage. The rest as suggested by PlsCheckThisBush, should be dodged although it's not my best ability currently and certainly not for a immobile champion.

I dumped all my IP into Cassiopeia, unless Viktor is free next week I'll have to continue on.

WitchQueen Annie1 votes

If she just stands way back and spams her E at you as you farm, she's gonna go OOM reallly fast. She needs a couple of points in her E (4 to 5) before she can do that at a mana-efficient level.

Early on, its okay to eat some Es so long as you step back right after so she can't auto-proc the TLD (that's when it really chunks).

Hallbuster1 votes

Hmmmm, you're right, that could be why I'm taking unnecessary damage.

WitchQueen Annie1 votes

What I mean is, she wins lane by repeatedly landing COMBOS, not Es. If she's just landing E and nothing else (because you walk back after or dodge her other spells), she can't poke you out before her mana goes OOM.

Her two main combos are:

  1. E + auto attack (Thunderlord proc)

  2. Q snare + E + auto attack (Thunderlord proc)

So you can farm and sort of dodge Es but if a few hit you, its okay. Just make sure you don't let her auto you after her Es hit though. If you can't avoid it occasionally, then make sure to trade back with your Q.

Also, once you get used to the travel speed of her Q snare, it can be dodged pretty consistently (its not a super fast skill).

Hallbuster1 votes

This is actually a pretty neat concept I never thought I could do before. Will certainly do this when I can.

WitchQueen Annie1 votes

I do agree with you though that you want to pick AOE mages in mid to climb. I'd expect you make the game a few times harder if you pick assassins (fall off, hard to carry into late game, high mechanical ceilings, low AOE damage)

Hallbuster1 votes

That's what I noticed too, assassins have better early games but fall off in comparison to champions with better scalings.

SarcasticShepard1 votes

Tbh, its less about skill than that riot focuses all its attention at making balanced matchups for the high level players for whatever reason. 70% of their playerbase is gold and below, yet they choose to add master tier to the top of the pyramid rather than working on the crumbly foundation.

The Last Ballad1 votes

God forbid, the support and jungler position is most likely one of them. Both contribute very little to the game and really can't help a garbage doomed team. So what do you do? Pick top, mid, or bot and play a hyper carry.

Because, you know, we don't have the autofill thing because there isn't ENOUGH supports, let's just encourage people not to play it more. What harm could it do?! [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Not to mention, a good support means: A) vision around objectives you want B) Someone who is going to follow the most fed person around and force them to snowball even more than they are already doing so(Im sure that Darius would of done just as well without being effectively summoner 6ed every 7 seconds, and having anyone he got near to slowed by 80%) C) Someone on the enemy team becoming tilted(It doesn't matter if I am Leona, Soraka, Janna, Lulu, or Nautilus. They curse my name. Repeatedly.)

These things can carry a game if someone else on your team is half competent. Or pick Brand Zyra Syndra or Veigar and do it yourself.
