I don't know how to play singed anymore with the pre-season changes...

Singed has always been one of my favorite champions ever since I decided to pick him up in season 3 after being rekt and humiliated by a Singed smurf. However, with the preseason changes, I find it almost impossible to play him anymore. Removal of flask and mana pots combined with the increase in the price of hp pots really hurt his ability to survive his abysmal early game. The increase in the price of AP items and games being shorter in general have made it difficult to hit the late game unkillable god mode Singed that everyone fears. Can any fellow Singed mains out there give a brotha some tips on how to play him in the current state of the game or is it finally time to lay the mad chemist down to rest?
