I think Riot needs some new people on the rework team

Assassin rework - failed Malzahar rework - failed Fiora rework - failed Aatrox minirework - failed Kog rework was reverted Ryze is on his 3rd incarnation and now he's been gutted again sitting at 38% winrate Skarner is picked even less after being too strong and nerfed

All of these ended with huge nerfs after a patch or two of being pick or ban. So far the only ones I see being healthy are Poppy and Yorick. I want to say Talon and Fiddle but those were only changes to 2 skills each. Riot, you gotta stop trying to make everyone some unique thing. Some champs can fill the same roles and be better in some fields than others. We don't need a hip new unique tank buster that does massive true damage with an aoe heal (Fiora) or a "versatile" burst mage with utility in the forms of a snare, a shield, a speed buff, and an aoe TF ult for his team (Ryze).

Darius was an improvement Warwick was amazing Fiora was an improvement Galio is amazing Graves was successful Poppy was amazing Syndra was successful Velkoz was successful Veigar was successful Mage Rework - Successful

you can't just cherry-pick friendo

if you're going to hold each class rework accountable for their initial effects, that'd be unfair. These class reworks are completely new and it's not unexpected that it would take time to work it out and smooth things over. I feel as though the mage rework was largely successful with a couple rotten apples.

You can't just take the bad details without taking account of the big picture

DeathBurst2 votes

Upvoted, OP is whining for no good reason. Yet I'd like to mention, I don't think Syndra "rework" was successful.

Garen was also an improvement.

Ralanr3 votes

I'll disagree on Garen as it didn't really give him a good niche.

DeathBurst1 votes

We already had this discussion, if I recall correctly. Split-pushing Juggernaut.

Ralanr3 votes

Yorick and Nasus do that better than Garen.

Edit: it's also their niche. Not his.

Xivilai Anaxes1 votes

Garen went from worthless almost troll pick to bad gimmick pick. I'd say it counts as an improvement

Illâoi Evê Siôn3 votes

I disagree that the Mage Rework was wholly successful.

Graves is cancer. He does too much to well. Its a fucking joke. Poppy rework was OP AF for a long time until they nerfed her, after months of complaints. WW kit is so overloaded, and Fiora is a filthy whore.

Slythion1 votes

personal opinions that disagree with the actual stats and most of those points are related to numbers, not kit wise

  • Darius' rework made him less healthy. The heal made him more frustrating to play against and they funneled a lot of his damage into his new 5-stacks bloodrage passive.
  • Graves' rework wasn't "successful," considering he was perfectly fine and highly viable as an adc already. It ripped him out of the adc role and turned him into an overtuned jungler that has been a balancing nightmare.
  • Vel'Koz is still just a poke support.
  • Veigar was only "successful" in the fact that they returned the power he lost when he was GUTTED as "compensation" for DFG being removed from the game.
  • Mage Rework was a failure, I've never known anyone to claim otherwise.
  • Sona rework was literally a list of over 30 simultaneous nerfs. It was sooo bad, Fearless intentionally hid the kit's numbers from the patch notes, the champ update news and even her champ page for the entire 2 years until 6.14. Patch 4.13 made Sona the weakest support in the game & she's still considered a troll pick to this day.
  • Season 5 jungle rework, probably the biggest travesty this game has ever seen. Fearless made jungling so impossible, barely 2 or 3 champs in the entire game could even perform the role. It took constant tweaks, nerfs and buffs throughout the entire season to undo that shit.
  • Season 6 jungle rework, massive failure. Rito undid all of the previous year's worth of effort fixing the jungle and only to allow Fearless to pull the exact same shit all over again and it took months to fix this time.
  • Meddler stated last week that all class reworks have been failures. Every single one has created more issues than they solved.
  • Fearless also worked on the juggernaut update, which Meddler specifically called a failure.

Notice how Fearless has been involved with a large number of these failures. You won't find his name on a single successful rework.

I'm talking full reworks, not 1 or 2 skills changed. Out of those, only Warwick turned out fine. Galio I can't say because it hasn't been 3 months so I don't want to judge yet. Poppy is fine as I said. The mage rework ended with Malzahar Brand Velkoz Zyra being supports, Cassiopeia barely touched, and Vladimir was nerfed to the point I don't see him as much as I used to.

Fiora's rework is mostly fine now, honestly.

Assassin reworks weren't awful more than lethality itemization became awful...save LB, which is sad because I thought the "cooking" mechanic would help with opening meaningful windows of opportunity in her rotations, but the slow on her W negates the initial intention.

Rest I concede.

Fiora deals too much damage and can become fairly tanky because of her true damage. And Akali Fizz Katarina are in the same spots as before. Barely played except by mains and once they're ahead nothing stops them. The rework was to prevent burst, but I can guarantee you it failed on all 3 of them. Now they're either carrying or feeding.

chipndip12 votes

Fiora is a melee carry. ALL melee carries are a bit ridiculous when they get some mileage. And, no, she doesn't get too tanky anymore. Maybe like one tank item.

GhostOfTsushima1 votes

yeah we should probably forget Riot give LB a long ass fucking chain than it used to be

Not even OP right like not even LMAO

You flash........ OH shit the chain still connected

You dash and flash..............Still connected AHAHAHA

Riot have bunch of Bronze as their rework team so what do you expect??????

2nd they don't even play League, there like the rest of the Bronze idiot who watch LCS

That's why they don't kow what's really OP and not OP in solo que, they only know what's too good or not too good in LCS

Anything that appear in the LCS, they focus on that only

Anything not in LCS, they don't give a shit, unless its something that used to be play quite a lot or few in LCS then they will go back and work on it

What they need is a rework team that actually play the damn fucking game and not just

PLAY TEST

Like what Play test going to do????

TheHappyReaperz4 votes

Play Test gives the Devs feedback, which they take into account. That's how it works.

GhostOfTsushima2 votes

You're so stupid I can't find the word to describe it.............

TheHappyReaperz4 votes

That's how the system works. If you can't understand that, I'm afraid there is no cure for you.

GhostOfTsushima2 votes

Talk about understanding LOL

If you have the slightest of understanding....... You wouldn't be Bronze right?

SHOT FIRE

TheHappyReaperz3 votes

If I had better map awareness... I wouldn't be Bronze.

If you had an actual argument... You wouldn't have named yourself after a show that's 80% filler. https://giphy.com/gifs/dance-dancing-perfect-12qfJu9Bz6OVc4/?nodirect

Paquay1 votes

There's no point in arguing with someone who has the brain power of a slug. Dumb people are too dumb to realize that they're dumb. It's a conundrum but these boards prove it over and over again.

GhostOfTsushima2 votes

You're right these board prove it

Cus half this community is fill with Bronze who are dumb

IN n OUT of the game

like the rest of yourself

You Bronze better back each other up because only the dumb can support the dumb in this community LMAO

Paquay1 votes

{quoted}

like the rest of yourself

Yep. I'm clearly the dumb one.

GhostOfTsushima2 votes

Now we can totally agree with that one kid

You're getting smarter kid

Just 1000 more baby step and you'll get there

Nidalee 4.10 rework - complete success, amazing awesome rework.. 5.1- well drat we did an amazing job at nidalee rework. she is balanced we can't let that stand... lets throw her into the jungle and then slowly undo her entire rework

General Esdeath 1 votes

That's not really a big rework, also she was way too snowbally

Reavelock2 votes

Don't forget the Swain rework

General Esdeath 1 votes

I think Swain is fine. If any changes were to be made it should be lower his mana costs and damage.

Xivilai Anaxes1 votes

Went from only used by hardcore swain fanatics to high tier strong pick.

yeh what a shitty rework

Unpaladin2 votes

Don't forget that the ADC rework caused plenty of problems (not just Graves) as well, some of them still apparent now. There's something very wrong with roster updates and it's not being picked up on enough.

Bird Brains2 votes

By "new people," you need to rephrase that as "More People."Because this is a shit post. They do a great job at design with what they have. What we would all love to see is a larger team.

General Esdeath 1 votes

Design is one thing, kit is another.

The Whamboozler1 votes

Poppy? Healthy? She was the terror of top lane for a loooong time and she's been nerfed repeatedly.

I love her rework, but it was an overtuned mess that they still haven't entirely fixed.

General Esdeath 1 votes

She wasn't broken until she pulled a Lulu. Good because the thing she counters is good.
