To those of you who don't believe in elo hell.

Look at my last match as Malzahar. I went 19/0 before dying trying to carry my entire team. Granted this wasn't a ranked match, but ranked is no different. This is simply why I don't do ranked. Enemy Ziggs and I did well, everyone else did nothing. I'm starting to hate this game. People playing ranked giving excuses like "sorry 500 ping" "sorry using library computer". This game is NOT FUN when you get crushed to death like this. We all make mistakes, but I never do shit like my allies did. Our ADC focused minions while we were teamfighting right next to him, and our support didn't land a single skillshot and just exploded in fights.

I can't get anywhere in ranked because my allies are shit.

EDIT: Let me clarify. Elo hell, as I define it, is taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. It's having more bad luck than good, so bad that you can't carry.

I don't think I'm amazing, I think the randomness is ruining the fun for me. Having smurfs and trolls, leavers, feeders etc in the same league is fucked up.

See video. Basic summary: Bad games are real. Extended series of bad games aren't. The only thing keeping you in Bronze/Silver/Plat 1 is your skill level.

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

So It's my fault, even though I carried. My skill level was holding me back that's why I had a 19 kill streak. Makes so much sense. You're fucking delusional, kid.

Tsunday2 votes

even though I carried.

It's not carrying if you lose.

Phife2 votes

lmao yeah bronze is shit, i wouldn't say its hell its more like climbing a well with a rope made of floss.

Brorelia2 votes

So basically their team destroyed the nexus before your team did?

If you ever get distraced from that being the main goal of the game and are unable to get a team to have that as their main goal then you might as well /ff at 20

There is no such thing as hell but you can make it if you try.

I got out of this hell in season 2 and it forces me to wonder how people get so lost in it.

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

Your post makes no sense. How is it relevant? "Your team did nothing in a game that puts 5 against 5, it's completely your fault because you don't know how to play the game". Give me a fucking break. Elo hell is basically just taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. In a game where it's practicaly 50/50 your chances having worthless teammates or not, a tiny bit of bad consistently bad luck locks you in elo hell forever.

It's totally my fault that I can't realistically 1v5 up to silver.

SEKAI2 votes

Climbing out of Bronze is very possible and indeed a simple thing to achieve, if you already possess the skill that is at least 2 leagues above it.

Otherwise, yes, it's very annoying and time consuming (Which makes sense though, doesn't mean I like it but it's just how things are in general).

But on the flip side you have 20% chance less to find a troll on your team if you ain't one yourself so I guess that's a plus.

EDIT: Also play objective smart, not kill smart.

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

I did. I even changed my build so I had the AD to do objectives on my own and it wasn't enough. 1v5 is just not possible.

SEKAI1 votes

To push turrets AP should do the trick by itself if you have high enough of it

If 40% of your AP is higher than your total AD, your damage dealt to structures is based on 40% of your AP.

However since then there has been quite a few changes not sure if the general rule still applies (Riot started to add individual rules to different turrets which is annoying), I think except the inhibitors the rule applies.

But yer I do agree you can really get the short end of the stick in Bronze which makes the climbing harder than it should be.

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

I was Malzahar so hybrid damage for voidlings was perfectly fine anyways. All I want is for something to be done about the lowest of the low players being in the same game as smurfs, with some bad luck players stuck in the mix. I'm not troll bad, and I'm not diamond smurf good, which is why I'm annoyed that we're all in the same games.

When you're frustrated in ranked, stick with normal, that's what I do.

Or you can go Normal Draft.

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

I have the same issue with it. I stopped trying ranked because of the huge skill level difference between everyone. When I play normals I generally either destroy the other team to the point it's not fun, or my team gets fucked hard. There's no way to get an even slightly balanced game in any of the LOL modes. ARAM is my favorite but I have too many bad champions for ARAM unlocked to play it.

Tsunday1 votes

I went 19/0 before dying trying to carry my entire team.

You do know towers win games, not kills right?

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

And I got several towers. In fact I got all of them except 1 bottom turret. I got mid lane's inner turret and inhibitor and from then their entire team cockblocked me. This is what really frustrated me. I was vs their entire team while my team accomplished nothing somehow. I also got our only dragon. Seriously why are you blaming me? The proof is in the pudding. This game is frustrating as fuck when you're trying to win and get shit teammates.

Tsunday1 votes

Seriously why are you blaming me?

because you're magically a god getting 19 kill and tearing down towers like you're an AD champion or something. Like that just screams delusional.

You're losing games and getting sucky teammates because somehow the games are everyone's fault but yourself. Somehow every accomplishment was a single handed feat and you're playing it out like it's a 1v5 when really it's a 6v4, you and 5 enemies against your 4 teammates because the way you sound about the game is just BM.

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

I had 3 AD items just so I could solo objectives because my teammates wouldn't help. Just be rational for a moment and realize that worthless teammates and this ranking system is seriously flawed. I'm not amazing but I'm not garbage either. The randomness in lower levels of play is what frustrates me. You have diamond smurfs on one side and trolls, afk, leavers, high ping on the other.

Tsunday1 votes

The randomness in lower levels of play is what frustrates me.

Says the man who built 3 AD items on an AP champion. Not 6, you didn't go full AD apparently, you built half of your items as AD and you're complaining about 'randomness'.

Just be rational for a moment

I am being rational. You built AD on Malzahar and not even full AD. It's like building DCap and IE on the same Leona build.

Refer to my match history

I quit playing league a year ago, and when i was playing i hovered between plat 1-3 as a jungle maining eve.

I just started playing again and after about 8 games to get my knowledge back I'm doing pretty decently. Climbed from bronze 1 to silver 3 in a day mainly playing jungle. Sure certain games I'd go 10/0 but people still find a way to mess up and lose it for us. BUT most games when i score like that i do win because people do take advantage of the advantages I give them. If you deserve to be out of whatever elo you are in you will climb out because you are consistently good.

You have one good game that you lose and feel like you're better than everyone in your division??? What about the other 15 games you went even in lane / fed / got caught at the wrong time??

brettly4201 votes

oh and also when i started in bronze i had 2-3 games where tops / mids / jungles didnt take flash.

by the 20 min mark more than likely had them 0/6 at least.. like if you are good how can you sit there and say it isnt ridiculously easy to carry yourself out of a division like that LOL

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

Look at my match history, in a solo lane I almost never do poorly but even then, when your teammates don't call MIA, don't help in teamfights, don't gank, what is there to do? When I feed it's because I'm desperately trying to save teammates or get a kill after the rest of my team has fed to the point of hopelessness. There is no teamwork in bronze. When I jungle I usually carry, but today there was a match where every time I ganked it may as well have been a 1v1 because my laners were so bad.

I'm not saying it's impossible to rank up, I'm saying this system is shit. I'm not diamond material but I'm certainly not as bad as the people I usually play with.

brettly4201 votes

you are 6 / 7 with malz in ranked. with an average of 8 deaths per game.

If you wanna carry yourself out of any divison you need to learn how to stay alive

I never got diamond 5 because i couldnt stay alive, once i got behind i still played aggressive which was my downfall

If you are dying more than 3-4 times in a 45 minute game at bronze elo you deserve to be there. This comes from a lack of your own wards and bad team fight positioning. Watch trick2g's subwards. He commentates low level play and tells you exactly what they are doing wrong, breaking down most plays. I climbed from gold 3 to plat 1 just off of his videos

Tsunday1 votes

but even then, when I don't watch my map, try to 1v5 in teamfights, and my jungler doesn't carry my lane, what is there to do?

ftfy.

MIAs are nice but you can't blame losing a game on your jungler or a lack of MIAs and if nobody is 'helping' in teamfights then sit back and poke, don't go all in if you don't know you have back up that's the same as 1v5ing (as long as 5 enemies are there).

FistOfSharkiesha1 votes

Ok I understand that in most cases even a challenger player can be responsible in his/her mistakes but I refuse to take any responsibility for this last game. The bottom lane was so bad that both the ADC and support enemies were roaming the entire map since about the 8 minute mark with no MIAs. I even bought wards and defensive items because I was so far ahead. I did everything in my power to carry my sorry team but you simply cannot 1v5. My jungler was decent but was helping the other lanes the entire time. The fact that you don't believe me makes it obvious why you disagree. This shit happens and if you can't understand that, your opinion doesn't mean shit.

Objectives win games, not kills. It's hard to push turrets and nexus without AD champions or split-pushers. Without that, you have to either win teamfights and push while they're down (which can be hard because death timers even late game aren't super long), or if you can get baron/apply pressure to all three lanes, you can minion-win. This means you will have to rely on either top, jungle, or ADC, and that's fine. Do what you can to help them. It doesn't hurt to compliment people on good plays, or a nice 2-for-1 trade.

Communicate with your team about objectives, make sure you have map awareness (this is more important than anything else, because if you can pick off an isolated enemy or two, you have a huge advantage). If you wipe the enemy team (or even trade 3-2 or something like that), make sure to convert that advantage into progress. If you're carrying, you'll have to lead your team. Getting kills isn't enough. If you're getting carried, make sure to keep vision on the map (yes, everyone should be doing this -- even if it's just with a item 3361 ) and assist your carry.

bro just don't get mad, just look at it this way. It's not your fault that you lost, you did great, with that in mind you can easily calm yourself down. Remember there will ALWAYS be bad people, and you will group with them randomly. You might win 7 games in a row or you might loose 7 games in a row, but as long as you're doing good and you know the loss wasn't your fault, you should be happy that you're better than them. Also, just because those players aren't as good as you, don't rage at them... help them out, if you're going to loose anyways just help them become better players. That way they go on to their next game with a little more experience. summoner 13 peace of mind wins you more than just games! :)

There are some games you can't win. That does not prove elo hell exists. If you are good, you'll win more games than you lose. The odds of you getting luck so much worse than your opponents that you can't compensate for it are astronomically low.
