@Riot An Opinion on Athene's Unholy Grail.

To start, I love the change to the item. It is beautiful and gives a nice new item to poke mages whether they are in mid or support. But one thing I don't like, is the 20% CDR. I feel like the 20% CDR is a bit overkill, considering the other items available that give CDR. For a support with the item, poke supports usually get item 2301 or item 3092 which both give 10%, then there is item 3174 for a total of 30%, but now there's this little issue. Let's say you want item 3110 to help with that enemy Vayne, or Yasuo, or Graves. Well, now you are at 50% CDR with 10% overboard. There's also Aegis upgrades, item 3190 and item 3060 , with both having 10%. Or you want item 3158 to lower the cooldown of Exhaust or Ignite. There's also item 3001 for mr shred utility that gives 10%, item 3504 gives 10%, and item 3050 gives 10%. Now I know that the idea of capping CDR on items is a part of the meaningful trade-offs. But I feel like this is a bit too much. Two ways I think this could be properly adjusted would be to either remove the CDR on item 2301 , or bring the CDR of item 3174 to 10% and give some extra AP to the item as compensation.

Would love to hear a response. Lulu and Karma have been so fun with Athene's, but would like to be allowed some extra variety in options of items, without wasting gold on extra cdr.

What no stop.

Can you elaborate? I just think that playing a poke supports becomes difficult late game because of the overabundance of CDR, making you waste gold when buying certain items.

You are aware the it is sometimes ok to go over the CDR limit?

CDR is hardly the central component of most of those items, so you get the ones you need, and then, if it turns out you need a frozen heart, then get it -- nothing's stopping you. Build the part without the CDR first if necessary

I know it's ok, I just think from a design standpoint there is too many cases where a poke support will go over the limit because of needed items, and that ends up in wasted gold, which could be offered to another stat since this occurs so much.

You do realize that supports aren't the only ones getting this, right?

It's the same for mages, it is pretty impossible to not cap out on CDR or if you are a lichbane user, to hop over the cap by 10%. And it limits other options, such as frozen heart since the CDR is wasted. I don't think they needed to put CDR on most of the items to be honest. They could've left it off another item or two. Lucidity are now pointless on a mage.
