Can we go over again how fucking obnoxious Duskblade is?
With all the ADC hype and whatnot, I just wanted to bring back an old fucking favorite that has been asinine since its conception. Hello, Duskblade.
Probably the biggest slap in the face to AP mids and champions in general, this stupid ass item comes with the oh so great loadout of having 3 fucking passive effects tacked on because why not? Out of literally every other item in the game, no items tack on 3 passives besides support items, which tend to be more on the utility side. Well, at least the item pays for this by having only a modicum of stats, 55 AD and 10% CDR. That's pretty meh.
Oh, silly me. That's because it's one of the cheapest damage items in the game, not so much because it's balancing out its fucking epic tale of passives it's got going on. Well what the fuck ever, am I right? Passives can be lousy and have shit stats as well, just look at Rylai's.
Wow, 18 lethality, huh? That's not bad. In fact, it's better than Liandry's for less of the price. Isn't that quaint. And it comes with an oracle's alteration tacked on? Fucking nice, that's balanced and stuff. For 8 fucking seconds of disabling wards and traps in an area? Oh, and it will actually disable them in an even wider area than you can actually see them from so the user doesn't even have to be remotely near the fucking ward to disable it and render your team blind? Great idea, that's not stupid at all, especially since they can just take an oracle's alteration with them and basically never be caught by wards again unless the person's just fucking thick in the head. This passive doesn't seem excessive at all. Support levels of vision utility on a damage item that will automatically activate itself instead of taking any guess work at all thus removing skill or understanding of the enemy's mechanics form the equation entirely. Fucking genius. The best idea.
Oh, and you added free bonus damage onto the item? Well, gee, that's a swell idea! It can be the Luden's Echo of AD items, except it's cheaper, does more burst, and doesn't require you to scale it up for it to do any real damage (which you will at no point be dealing more damage with Luden's than Duskblade due to Luden's 10% scaling requiring over 1000 AP to break 200 damage total). But let's also just ignore that bonus physical damage on an item already increasing the amount of physical damage you do makes the item increase its own effectiveness. While this can be argued with Luden's coming with AP scaling and so it naturally helps itself, the way that armor and magic resistance functions makes a flat 10 point increase to damage mean a lot less than piercing 18 points of the enemy's armor (in a sense, you increase your damage by 18% of an enemy's health, here for reference: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Armor ).
The only item matching this kind of interaction with itself is Liandry's Torment, which once again is more expensive and is used to increase effectiveness against tanks versus one-shotting squishies, and isn't immediate.
This is also glossing over that Duskblade applies a fucking mini-stun practically and has an effective cooldown of 1 second.
I would like to repeat that.
It is possible to apply this bonus damage twice within 2 seconds. You can apply over 600 points of AD damage in 2 seconds for butt-fucking free.
And good news - ADC's like this item as well for all of these reasons while having the benefit of being fucking ranged, so guess who can do everything in this list from a safer distance? That's right, mages- I mean ADC's.
Like, this entire list of shit can be abused more by ADC's than by even AD melees (which I can't really call assassins when ADC's do it better), which is completely fucked. Even with the decreased damage on a ranged proc and the removal of the slow for them (which was more of just a cherry on top than anything actually great), the lethality isn't fucking decreased meaning they still get cockloads of bonus damage to snowball off of while everyone's still building resistances.
And even if we don't consider that, let's just compare Duskblade to Edge of Night, an item in the same class that is hardly ever used unless somebody's literally just trying to go straight lethality. What even is there to compare? Duskblade is infinitely better - not only is it buttfucking cheaper, it comes with far more impactful effects that don't require any kind of foresight or planning to use and can't possibly go astray - attack the squishy, you do bonus damage to them, whereas a spellshield can get popped by a fucking Aurelion comet.
There's no reason for Duskblade to be this utterly overloaded. At the very least the ward clearing passive should be moved to Edge of Night (if not outright removed), and for the love of god review this damage passive and add a cooldown on it - there's no reason an Ezreal should be taking potshots from the fog of war continuously proc'ing off 300 points of bonus damage on every fucking Q.
, BUT as a exchange they should buff Dark Harvest. This would allow jungle assassins to become a little stronger, while taking the lethality power out of the hands of ADCs, tops, and whoever else builds
