I think it is because there has been a serious lack in diversity in champion choice. I agree, skin tone should not matter. But if it doesn't matter, why can't we have more diverse champion choices? Why is it the majority of human champions released have a European appearance? Let's list the champions based on facial appearance (not clothing that hides facial features):
European
Asian
Other
(Ekko coming soon)
Skin tone shouldn't matter when creating a champion, so hopefully more champions will have more variety in appearance during future releases. Would love to see more Middle Eastern champions personally, not one's like Sivir that rely on their outfit to reflect their regional inspiration. Lots of potential with more Inuit looking champions to compliment Nunu's lore. Also why do we not yet have a Native American champion who uses nature/debuffs/dots?
