Maokai's Sapling's Focus
Hey everyone,
I'm personally not quite happy with the way Maokai's E prioritizes its targets. Since he was changed a few patches ago, they nerfed his W range but gave his E a slow as to improve his gap-closing potential. The problem is that the saplings seldom seem to want to go for the intended target.
It'd be nice if they had a prioritizing system similar to Miss Fortune's Q where it will first try and go for champions within a certain, small range, then for minions in that range, then for champions in a bigger range, then minions in the same bigger range and so on and so forth. I think it would make it a little less frustrating when you're playing Maokai and your E decides to waddle off to kill some caster minions instead of slowing the more important target you're actually trying to hit.
I'm not trying to have the minions go for champions only no matter what. The sapling's movement speed is not that great that it can catch up to every champion, so it would still be very well escapeable. I'm just thinking it would make it easier to compensate a bit further for the W's range reduction, which, if I might personally add, I'm kinda bummed out about. Sure, it makes sense. But I really liked being able to throw a sapling over the wall to blue buff and W my way over there once I had vision. That's barely possible any more, and even if, it's totally not as smooth of a move anymore as it used to be. But that's just me.
