Bandaid for Aatrox

Just considering some suggestions to provide Aatrox with a fix until he gets looked at.

So far I was thinking of something like:

  1. Every third autoattack (specifically the one that activates Blood Price/Blood Thirst) reduces the cooldown of his Q by x seconds (0.5 > 1.0 > 1.5 at levels 1 > 7 > 11)

  2. When Aatrox comes out of his Blood Well, his Q cooldown is reset automatically.

  3. EDIT Increase the size of his Blood Well. So far, the Blood Well's maximum capacity is 870HP. Your passive will regen 35% of that into your HP when you go into stasis. That's a mediocre 304HP. Considering you might have up to 3000HP in the lategame, you just come out of your passive with 10% of your max HP and you won't last a second in the lategame.

Too OP? I just wanna hear some thoughts and maybe arguments about those suggestions.

Definitely hitting a place he needs help in.

Let's face it. Aatrox can't buy enough items to be relevant. He'd need to be able to get like, eight or nine full items more in his build to be legit.

What happens to me very often is: I jump in, knock someone up, allies kill him, I get blown up by the enemies and get to heal about 300HP (which is absolutely nothing lategame) just to come out and be unable to do anything. My Blood Well is empty so I have no attack speed and thus no damage and all my cooldowns I used to engage. You really just heal up and then die again. So I figured it would be good to give him something to get back out once the dirty deed's been done.

nope. aatrox doesnt need more mobility, he needs a rework on his useless ultimate which fits about 0% with his kit.

this actually sounds pretty good.

I think his passive should be more like undying rage, except his blood well heals him over the next 5 seconds or whatever reasonable time. When he dies, it almost always leaves him vulnerable to burst right as he revives. I also think his q should be untargetable, because it's his only dash, and his only way to engage and more importantly, DISengage.

Your calculations on Blood Well are way off. The passive restores 35% of your maximum possible pool in addition to the amount currently in your blood pool, meaning you gain 135% of your blood pool total upon revive assuming your pool is full when you go into stasis. Spirit Visage will move that up to 162%, which is a very solid 1409 health at lvl 18.

As for your other ideas, I'm not convinced that he needs buffs. His early game is extremely strong if you abuse your W sustain properly and his manaless poke and pushing power combined with his all in potential with Q and empowered W make him a very formidable lane opponent if your champion can't feasibly burst him down. The only buff I could possibly see just to make Aatrox less frustrating to play (and I'd be willing to take a small compensation nerf in exchange) would be to make his Q hitbox slightly larger. It feels so small when I use it and is painfully unreliable for an ability that entails such a strong commitment to fighting.

My bad, then. Guess I didn't know the exact math.

And I agree on the Q. I think it has two circles. When you get hit by the center of the ability you get knocked up but if you stand a bit further outside you only take damage. And the center seems really small.

One thing that irks me is when you use Q and its interrupted, setting off the long cool down, so making his Q untargetable would alleviate that.
