We need a Grievous Wounds item for ADs/Tanks

With the removal of Executioner's Calling, a lot of high-healing AD champions have become rather difficult to handle, for example a Yi with Bloodthirster and BotRK will happily shred through enemy teams one by one and heal himself up in the process (And don't forget the W). Or Fiora, or Zed (sometimes), or even Mundo (but maybe less shredding.) So either we bring something like Executioner's Calling back as an item that actually makes sense to be bought with meaningful stats or we give tanks the opportunity to apply Grievous Wounds onto the enemies to add a bit of utility with some sort of MR/AR item.

EDIT 1: I seem to have been talking out of my rear-end for this one. Apologies. It's true that EC was never bought as, despite GW being a useful thing, it wasn't very cost efficient and the stats were not quite good enough. The removal of EC doesn't seem to have affected the game for the most part as not bought is still not bought now. Nonetheless, I would like to see an item that applies GW for ADs or tanks simply because some champions are able to stack up lifesteal and use this stat to their advantage either in the form of Fiora's ult or a Yi's sheer unstoppableness. Let's say I play Thresh, I hook a Fiora and she takes so much damage that she's down to 20% HP. In the split second during which I cannot apply any more CC to her for whatever reason, she presses R and is easily back to 80% HP if she has around two lifesteal items. Same with Yi. With his Attack Speed, true damage and his Q to boot, he's awfully hard to keep down unless he is feeling brave enough to run into a fight even he can't win, supposedly a 2v5 or so. I'm just saying. I've seen champions heal themselves up from 10 to 100% of their HP with a mere three auto attacks after a fight. Should I have died, my team would have no possibility to finish the job at all.

Thornmail should reduce healing effects.

Just saying. Lifesteal pretty much makes what Thornmail is supposed to do a little harder to achieve.

Executioner's Callng didn't exist. If you were buying it, ever, you were playing incorrectly.

Riot's next move on Grievous Wounds will be removing it from he game. Little chance for a new item here.

Nobody bought Executioner's Calling because the stats were bloody abyssmal, not because GW is an unnecessary thing. I'm almost certain if they made an item with decent values, people would rather consider buying it to stop said Fiora, Yi or WW rampage. Because healing up by right-clicking doesn't offer counterplay, does it?

Of course people would buy it if it were good. That's pretty much the definition of a good item.

Grievous Wounds isn't a healthy mechanic. It exists because some champions have crazy self-healing ability. When they remove GW, and they will almost certainly do so at some point, they will also reduce said crazy self-healing ability.

Healing up by right clicking actually has quite a bit of counterplay. The problem with lifesteal is that it tends to be super snowbally -- if you're stronger than them, they get no sustain, but if you're weaker, they get infinite sustain.

So, why would the removal of Executioner's Calling make champions "difficult to handle" when it was never purchased against them anyway? Doesn't seem like anything changed.

Well, I have to be in right-clicking range, and there are quite a few options to deal with that. The heal itself may not be directly counterable, but the actual mechanism by which it is applied is counterable. Seems like a good place to start.

While I'd like Executioner's Calling back, nothing has become "difficult to handle" with it gone; people rarely used it anyway, I assume because it's not cost effective and is a mid-game item that can't be upgraded. Again, I also want it or something similar back, but nothing really changed with it gone.

Am I wrong here? I never saw any high elo or pro games with it even once.

Well for tanks Thorn mail and sun fire cape are the closest thing. I would hate for this sort of item for ADs though because Darius and Talon would be a thing with thier blead damage and all.

We have weapons, bows, body armor, boots, rings, lanterns, books, belts, necklaces, staves, banners and shields as items. Why not spikey pants that grievous wounds on basic attacks along with armor/mr and health

grievous wounds needs to have more than one value befor it can be more common. champs/ items that easly apply it could cause 10/20/30% healing reduction wile others that do not last as long or are harder to apply cause 50/60/70% reduction. that way causing grievous wounds dosn't instantly invalidate the type of champion who relies on healing.

I had an idea for this, building out of phage. similar in stats to frozen mallet, 5 less AD and 100 less health, with the rage passive and it applies grievous wounds on hit. IMO grievous wounds should be nerfed to 30% healing reduction.

Did anyone actually get Executioner's Calling in the past vs these champions? I don't think so. It was the least-purchased item in the game for a reason, and it wasn't because it was such a wonderful item. I have a hard time believing that these champions have suddenly become hard to handle when the grievous wounds item was virtually unpurchased before anyway. Nothing changed.

I personally think removing Grievous Wounds from the game entirely is a better design direction. It warps healer balance so much. Easier to not have it at all and rebalance healing around never having to face it. At the very least, taking it off of the "certain champions and items easily guarantee less healing" paradigm is a good idea.
