Captain Fortune looks more like MF than Classic

See this? This is a pirate hunter. A badass lady that strikes fear in the hearts of even the most ruthless swashbucklers and isn't afraid of taking lives. That's my definition of Miss Fortune.

Her classic skin in comparison looks like a scantily-clad prostitute with a traffic cone perched ontop of her head.

I'm not necessarily appealing for a visual rework or anything considering she just got a TU (and I mainly use the Road Warior MF skin anyway), but it's quite a shame Riot decided to make this new look of Miss Fortune an optional skin for her when, in my opinion, it fulfills the champion's fantasy better than her classic skin does.

Upvote if you feel the same and maybe Rito-senpai will notice us.

UPDATE: In case you're familiar with the recent Gangplank changes, I hope you understand that they make my point even more believable. To recap the current thoughts: Miss Fortune does not look like the badass lady she is because the Classic Skin depicts her in a previous era, a time in which she was still gaining influence and power in Bilgewater and used her 'killer charme' to get things done. At this current point in lore, meaning right now, however, she is indeed Captain Fortune and ought to look the part. Gangplank, now, has recieved a base model update, changing his Classic Skin to depict him in the current time, after the events of Burning Tides.

Now I feel like Riot is just taking the piss. Gangplank's new look, post-Dead-Pool, is his base skin, but for Miss Fortune's post-Dead-Pool attire we need to pay? This just doesn't make any sense. Either update them both so their new classic skins are from the same time, that being after their respective events, or you leave them both with their genuine 'Classic' skins and then make skins for the current time in lore. But it makes no sense to just update one to what he would look like now and leave the other hanging in her past!

Pretty much this. The login-screen and the splash art event suggests that this is in fact her lore appearance (the burning behind her seems to be Gangplanks ship and in her splash this could be one of his crew members).

This should have been her new update. Her classic skin should have been something like "Traditional Miss Fortune" (pretty much like Karma).

Fine, but at least give us Captain Fortune as her default skin. As much as I love titty princess' original look, she looks fucking fantastic. It seems that this is what her VU was going to be.

All of this screams that they put all of their effort into Gangplank and half-assed Miss Fortune. Dunno why I'm surprised, Riot has a strict policy that half of their reworks have to be shit.

Usually Riot had the policy of not stuffing content behind a paywall. Skins were something nice you could get, but you could get every bit of "serious" ingame content with IP. Since SG Udyr there seems to have been a change in their management that i cannot approve of...

They said they are unlikely to, as they would rather just do a better job of visually upgrading. However, I think this could be a special exception. Her classic skin doesn't have to be advertised as "Traditional", either, it could be appropriately named.

I think the main issue with some of the Traditional skins is that they could have just been advertised as new skins - bikini Sejuani could have just been re-released as Pool Party Sejuani, if there is a demand for half-naked-Sejuani. Traditional Trundle could have been released as Bogey Trundle or something - and just leave it permanently available.

Isn't a bit frustrating how one character (Fiora) gets an unwanted visual rework while MF, doesn't get the same treatment? Captain Fortune_ is _Miss Fortune. Meanwhile Fiora looks far worse than she ever did before.

I say this with every legendary and ultimate skins. You want a Veigar VU? Go buy the Final Boss skin. You want Teemo VU? Go buy Omega Squad skin. Guess we won't be seeing a proper VU for these guys in awhile.

Same with Ezreal and his ultimate skin. Heck, all of his skins are generally 750 with no new particles.

At best the only legendary skin I can think of that works better as a base is Blood Lord Vladimir. AT BEST. And ofc there is SGU, but well, that's a completely different subject.

Every other legendary/ultimate skin is a re-concept of an existing champ, an "In an alternate dimension", sort of thing.

Captain MF IS MISS FORTUNE. It's her lore, it's what she is now, it's how they (riot) imagine her.

That's why OP said it should be her base.

Yes but what he is saying is that Miss fortune is not on GP's shitlist. If miss fortune looked like that before she could've been killed off and wouldn't be able to secretly gain power to launch an attack.

Even considering that this is Miss Fortune now, then why is the Classic Skin supposed to be Miss Fortune then?

It's fantastic that they're working on the lore but I'd rather have Miss Fortune in her prime as a classic skin rather than a Miss Fortune gaining power. Or would you prefer that GP's default skin be him when he was not a captain, scrawny and hardly impressive?

Both the classic and Captain skins are accurate depictions of Miss Fortune, just at different times in her life. For her career up until this point, classic Miss Fortune suited her perfectly. Its sexy and saucy, just like the facade she upheld perfectly until this pivotal moment. Captain Fortune is her in the moment she killed Gangplank and onwards. There's no longer a strategic need to hide her bloodlust, so her femme fatale persona- including the clothes- is gone.

I think Captain Fortune would have made a good new classic skin to show the transformation and maturation of her character. The previous classic skin could have stayed on as Bounty Hunter Miss Fortune to represent that period of her life, kind of like how Renegade Talon represents the life he spent on the streets before coming to serve General Du Couteau.

I'm pretty sure the skin is suppose to show her after the events of Gangplank's "death".

Her classic is suppose be her on her rise up the bounty hunters and her way of gaining respect, I guess you could say.

Either one could work as the Classic though, I like 'em both.

Her base skin should be a traditional skin and this should be the default miss fortune. I mean its to late now, because people have already paid for the 975 skin and everything. But I think this would have been a perfect time to make this her default skin and have the old classic that got updated a traditional skin.

I also feel this is another case of "Should have been the visual update".

Since her new default model isn't all that different, just less blocky and outdated. But this new captain skin is pretty much how MF SHOULD BE. All pirate captain, bounty hunter-ish.

But Miss Fortune isn't a sexist joke. She may be sexy, and she may have used her body to her advantage, but she respects her body and expected others to do the same. In lore, she killed a man and took his ship for touching her inappropriately. In game, Her lines include a lot of innuendo, but she isn't complacent and seductive and willing to bed. She's assertive and taunting- She's beautiful, and that makes you less than her.

Form follows function. If you had called Zyra a "sexist joke" I might have understood your feelings. There's no reason for Zyra to be humanoid at all, let alone a sexy woman dressed in leaves. But Miss Fortune has a reason to be both assertive and sexy, and I think that Riot did a good job of designing her with charisma and dynamite as opposed to a redhead bimbo or a courtesan-style manipulator.

I agree that Riot's overall champion designs have been off-point in terms of male and female representation. But Miss Fortune is a good example of when a female champion should be beautiful and should be sexy, and in a positive, empowering way.

Let's not confuse "countering sexism" with "slut shaming".
