Duskblade Seemed to be More Balanced When It Built From a BF Sword and Scaled Off of Lethality.
Like the title states, Duskblade was in a better place a few months back, as it had more of a "all in damage boost" identity. Additionally, having it scale off of Lethality made it less attractive to rush.
Right now having the same stats and build path as Ghostblade reduces the decision making between building Duskblade or Ghostblade first boil down to, which item is better than the other, with Duskblade being the better choice 90% of the time on Live. With the coming nerfs to Duskblade this might change, however most champions will still opt to build Duskblade first, as it will still give more damage overall and you won't miss out on CDR.
The solution to this? Bring back the old Duskblade, with a few tweaks.
75 AD 20 Lethality Unseen damage: 60-150 + (5 * Total Lethality) Physical Damage.
Build Path:
+
+ 1000 Gold. Total Cost : 3400 Gold
This makes Duskblade more of its own item rather than a Ghostblade clone with a strong passive. It can still be a decent first item on champions that can make use of the unseen damage, but you sacrifice CDR that you would get if you built Ghostblade instead. Additionally, having it build out of a BF sword paired with a relatively high combine cost makes it risky first buy.

buy it, as it does nothing to help them with damaging tanks.
