If the enchanter support is what is keeping the ADC alive, isn't more logical to kill them first?

People already do this with Soraka. They focus Soraka because they know that if Soraka is kept alive, she makes her allies outsustain them and win trades or even teamfights with her healing. Plus, the less health Soraka has, the less she can heal her allies, since she needs to use her own health to use her heal.

Why the same doesn't apply to other supports like Janna or Lulu? After all they are the reason why the ADC is kept alive. Peharps it may be better as an assassin or burst mage to kill the support first instead of the ADC? It may sound like a bad idea given that you are not taking out their main source of damage, but think of that way. You are an assassin and you kill their support. Now, your mage and your ADC can wreak havoc because they have lost the main thing keeping their ADC alive. Most hypercarry ADCs rely a lot on their enchanter support to be kept alive. And if the enchanter support use their shields and heals on themselves to keep them alive, that means free reign for the rest of your team to kill the enemy ADC.

Another reason why I was thinking it may be better to focus the support is because most enchanter supports are very squishy themselves and they, in theory, should be easy prey for the assassin, and the only reason why nobody focus them is because people already have in their heads the idea that focusing the support is an extremely bad idea unless it is a Soraka.

In this meta, peharps an assassin's role is no longer to kill the enemy squishies, but to open holes for the actual carries on their team to allow them to deal the most damage possible.

Janna has great self peel with R. Lulu polymorph is also pretty good self peel. So they arent easy to kill. Nami is easy to kill but her or Soraka may be behind their adc.

If you just forced out either of these abilities you bought a pretty long window of opportunity for your team to win a team fight.

Not if Janna disengages any of your teammates. And wether they are peeling you or ther adc, you are cc'ed and getting shot by their adc.

If you catch Janna out and force her to blow R, its something but polymorph is a basic ability.

But what did you comit to burn it? You need to burn CDs aswell to put preasure on the support aswell. If a maokai uses his W on the support, it oppens a window for the ADC to hit away with no fear aswell.

Why the same doesn't apply to other supports like Janna or Lulu?

Janna and Lulu can throw all or most of this BS protection on themself if needed, too.

wyvern0119762 votes

At the expense of having nothing to drop on the ADC. Which means your team should be able to take advantage of the cds.

Your team needs to use those CD's to force janna/lulu to peel themself instead of the ADC in the first place. Unlike with Soraka, who can't use her most powerfull ability on herself, there is very little reason to focus them.

I'd be happy if my teams would actually hit something squishy, instead of knocking their sporks against Braum's brick wall shield, while the enemy twitch decimates them all.

Because they have self peel, point and click CC and other utility for themselves if they are getting focused. Also they are the backline of the backline.

wyvern0119762 votes

Then they have nothing to drop on the ADC, so you team has a window to capitalize.

the point is you wasted your resources (cd. ulties, summoner spells) on getting to that support, it's not like enchanters are standing in the front line, they are hiding in the back and playing a reactive gamestyle. Also self peel means you cant just burst them and move on, you need to waste time hitting them, that time that the enemy team is focusing you with their damage champs

If you get a chance go for it, but usually you'll have to walk past the ADC to get to the support and you usually won't survive long enough to get to them.

the issue is that most enchanters have range and aim at the adc, so they can be the backline of their backline. If you get a catch or good flank on them, sure, go for it, but for most of it they can position even more savely than adc and use their kit to keep them selfs alive aswell, and if you spent time on killing them, their adc destroys you as a few seconds sadly are enough for a +3 item adc to tear appart a team if ignored(if you go for a support that is behind his adc, more than just your tanks will have to go deep and thus into the adcs range).

i'd say that is a good idea but for an assassin Taric might give you a run for your money due to him being tanky while making others somewhat tanky

The RAD is going to be strong regardless of whether or not the support is alive. The support is somewhat useful only when the RAD is alive.

Why not think less linearly. Kill em both at the same time. CC the enchanter, and burst the adc while the enchanter is cced.

The general opinion seems to be a) Your way too vulnerable going for the Support instead of the ADC. b) the support can self peel. (At least is the case with Janna and Lulu) and c) supports rarely present themselves as a target.

And despite the impact they currently have, they are still the weakest piece on the team. Trading any other position for the enemy support is never a worthy trade.

The only way I can see this working is if you're an Assassin/skirmisher with a lot of resets, like master Yi. You would have to wipe the Support almost instantly, and be able to snowball the fight off that one kill. Yet most of those champions are not in the current meta.

Can’t do that

Within a few seconds, the ADC can melt an entire team
