Can anyone think of a champion pairing where Nasus does poorly 1v1 post level 6 since Ult Buff?

I'm been searching, and I can't find one.

Nasus has pre level 6 counters, but once he gets his ult, even if you shut him down pre ult and cut his Siphon stacks in half, he STILL will own the lane.

Now, ofc he frequently dies to group fights, but solo, I can't think of a pairing that Nasus loses.

I've been playing since Season 4, and Nasus has never been this strong.

(For those who don't know what I'm talking about: In late season 7, Riot added a 50% reduced cooldown mod to Nasus's Q while he is in ult. When Nasus has CDR items + his ult, it literally means .5-.6 second resets on his Siphoning, and even early game those are 600 damage hits once he has a sheen. Late game they are just pure 1 hits, and he can apply them to turrets too. Nasus on ult can 3 hit a turret without a minion wave. He's NEVER been able to do that).

I just cut Nasus's stacks by 10 minutes to a respectable 100 stacks by 10 minutes (normally he has 200), and Nasus still had 600 stacks by game's end at only 26:46), and due to the lack of a jungler (our kayn literally took 19 minutes to transform Kayn because he never touched anyone pre 19:00). There was nothing my team could do about it.

I know Nasus suffers at Plat +, but that's because teams know that if they don't band together and hoard him, he's going to do amazing things. It's not because he's weak. If your team can't zerg him, he's lacking any counterplay. In other words, if your bot loses, and is far behind, Nasus top is almost an auto win, because they are going to be focused on farm instead of trying to help 3v1 or 4v1 Nasus. No champ should have that level of map pressure. Even a fed Yasuo or Yorick or Riven have less map pressure than that.

No champion counters Nasus anymore. The only thing countering Nasus right now is every game ending at 15-20 min

A general rule I've made for myself, both as and against Nasus, is that no matter who the champion is, once you lose a 1v1 against him once, you're not going for the rest of the game. The best you can do is kill him (or anyone) for as long as you can to just keep one step ahead of him.

But out of all of the champs I've seen, I find Urgot to offer some insane constant punishment against Nasus. Regardless who you pick though, you MUST buy something that'll inflict grievious wounds, like item 3123

Yorick Gnar I don't know about how they pair versus Nasus but they're harder lane opponents for me than Nasus is.

gnar vs nasus....... its interesting.

They're harder for you because of the champs you choose to play, imo. Yorick is hard when you play a champ that can't reliably break his wall or escape his Ult. But he has less sustain than a nasus, and he isn't infinitely scaling. Any aoe champ like Shyvana can outright win vs Yorick.

Gnar: Just have to know his kit and punish him before he has a Black cleaver. He's actually weaker during his Ult than during his ranged stages, because the Boomerang zones so well. As long as you can dodge his rock throws and charges on GNNARRR! he's easy to beat, even solo.

Nasus can attack 2 times/second for 1 hit statuses with a 95% slow. Even if you have cc, it's negligible now, because Tenacity is back, and since Nasus builds both Resist and Armor, his synergy with Overgrowth and Grasp of the Undying, almost no one but an AD with Executioner can reduce his heals, and even then it's formidable. An AP will never get his HP low enough to proc grievous unless it's a % damage AP like Evelynn, or Elise, both of which Nasus pops like a grape.

The game I was playing vs Nasus..... I was Heimerdingering. I literally hit every E stun, and pressured him down to only 100 stacks by 10 minutes. He still won hard, because after he had 1 item, he could just blow through turrets and flash in and start punishing. By the time he was to the second turret, he could actually take 2/3 of my Ult turret's HP in a single Q, even though he was way behind on stacks.

I think the new runes overtune hard on Nasus. He can have so many heals in a single game he's unreactive to team play, or solo. If harassing with something like Heim, he can just Second wind, and be in constant max HP recovery. If trying to go bit hits and single harass, he can go Overgrowth and ensure he can heal out of them. And, because of his nature, Grasp is perfect for him and he actually can use it in fights to gain the most effective stacks on it of any champ who uses it.

I mean.... they modified Morgana to address the fact she was overhealing with the new runes on Domination. But they haven't addressed the fact Nasus still has 20% life steal, .5 sec 2k attacks, and 2-4 other ways to heal (Nasus can also get Ravenous Hunter, in addition to Grasp/Second Wind).

Nasus has become so powerful he's actually back to building a Trinity force too. He no longer cares about being tanky enough to survive. He just is. So not only does he currently have a 95% slow, he's faster than he used to be too.

The Yi and garen posters are more or less right; you have to immune his slow to have a chance, and most champs (98.5% of them) don't have that kit. And even Yi or garen aren't a sure thing, because a Nasus on his Ult can 2 hit a Yi faster than a Yi can kill him, and Garen actually loses overall in all out engages (he just can get away).

Nasus can straight up ignore Vlad after a certain bit and just stack for days though

Yeah, the ult buff took Nasus from boring but manageable to straight cancer. Im not sure I've ever seen any champion autowin lane by not feeding pre-6 as hard as Nasus does right now.

I have a lot of experience on Nasus and I'll tell you what gives me the most trouble.

Trundle. Trundle's ult steal's Nasus' armor. Trundle builds bork and gets a qss. Then trundle will straight up win a 1v1 versus Nasus for the rest of the game. For nasus to have a chance at winning 1v1's, he needs to build lifesteal and other weird stats that you normally wouldn't build on nasus (this is because building armor actually makes him weaker versus trundle in a 1v1, and trundle building bork will shred your health).

Master Yi (in lane or jungle). Yi's ult negates attack speed debuffs, so wither doesn't touch him while ulting. Wither is Nasus' only CC so nasus can neither engage on nor disengage from an ulting master yi. In addition, yi has true damage from his e. Yi straight up massacre's Nasus in a 1v1 at all stages of the game post 6.

Varius AP champs if these champs keep a lead on nasus. These include Cass, Teemo, and Swain. Cass does insane dps at a distance but it is ability based, not attack speed based. In addition her ult keeps Nasus from walking up to her. Other AP champs that can smash Nasus' face in include Veigar, who basically gets free stacks for his passive all laning phasee and can use cage to prevent nasus from gapclosing. Leblanc can smash his face in, and, if you are very clever, you can build a duskblade. Now Nasus cannot effectively itemize against you (your magic damage base damage is quite high). And wither doesn't let him gap close or get away because you have a dash (2 with ult up).

Other champions lose to nasus if they don't get kills and allow him to farm, but should be able to bury Nasus if skillfully played -- including Riven and Renekton. I would never play these into Nasus because I don't have enough skill on them and you really need to bury nasus early and then effectively roam, something I am not good at. But when I've played Nasus, they have wreaked me many times. When they are not skilled, I outscale them hard and win. DO NOT PICK EARLY GAME BULLIES INTO NASUS UNLESS YOU ARE VERY GOOD A ABUSING THE EARLY GAME.

That said, you really shouldn't be playing to keep nasus down. You should be playing to win teamfights and objectives. Nasus is not a good teamfighter -- he is a good splitpusher. If you are wondering why one of the best split-pushers in the game is difficult to 1v1 in the mid to late game, well, you've already answered your question. But splitpushing is actually a bit weak right now. If you take a champ that adds a lot to a teamfight, and force a fight mid while nasus is top, you either: (1) force nasus to blow tp, then force him to fight a 5v5 teamfight where he is weak; or (2) crush the other team in a 5v4 teamfight and get lots of objectives while Nasus' team rages at him for not helping the team. Malphite is an excellent option here.

If your teammates are weak and you can't win a 5v4 while nasus is splitpushing, then your teammates have lost the game for you. Sorry, but that happens whether or not you are laning against nasus.

Your last paragraph diminishes your credibility. Nasus is an insane team fighter atm. Wither has a small cooldown, and his E diminishes aoe armor. If Nasus has reached 20 minutes, he can reliably 1v3. If it's a team fight, even if his team dies, Nasus can solo finish off 2-3 of the opponents. His life steal is the sole remainder of an era where champs could reliably build without life steal items, and his cooldowns are lower than them all. 1 Q late game = 400 hp heal, and it's on a .5 second cooldown. Even with Grievous wounds (which most players won't be able to activate unless they are AD) Nasus is now outhealing damage at the same time as having a 95% slow and a 2k hit Q. He is not slow anymore. He is not a bad team fighter. You have that illusion simply because most nasus's just try to stack forever. A good Nasus joins the team fight and obliterates.

Teemo lul. I have no idea how to go about losing to a Teemo as Nasus. Please, help me understand that one.

Nasus counters himself... he's still farming top as his nexus pops.

Nice troll comment. A good nasus has Popped his opponent's or joined team fights by the time that happens. Keep in mind a 400 stack nasus can do a 900-1400 damage Q, and a Champ kill gives 6 stacks.

Only a Nub Nasus stays in lane while his Nexus pops.
