The state of Itemization at the moment.
To be frank, itemization is absolutely terrifying right now. Instead of complaining about it, im simply going to say my thoughts on possible solutions to fixing it.

Nerf
. Obviously this is being fixed, and hopefully it will be enough because as of right now the item does way, way too much. -
first off needs to be melee only. Plain and simple. Also, another thought i had about it is that it should get some type of
treatment where it is weak if its your only health item but it scales better with health. I dont know about this, but its a quick thought. -
Buff Cinderhulk to do damage equal to Sunfire. Right now every single jungler takes Runic Echoes if they are ap simply because Cinderhulk is so bad. If you pick Cinderhulk on Zac and they pick Runic Echoes Zac, he can exert more map pressure, clear faster, and while being squishy, he will outfarm you so he can get his next tank item faster and create a lead on you simply because hes not picking Cinderhulk. If Cinderhulk did more damage, i believe this could be a valid fix rather than just crying about how runic is op.

NERF FUCKING
. THIS ITEM IS RETARDED. If you pick 3 AP champions in this meta, your winrate is likely something like a 20% just because of how dumb this item is. Its just way too effecient. -
This is where it gets complicated.
basically gives AD's a free lane against mages because of the mr, the automatic shield proc, and the overall damage and defenses it provides. The biggest issue to this is that
is a horrible item to rush, even if you get
by itself, it is outclassed by Hexdrinker. But the bigger issue here is that 9/10 mages NEED A MANA ITEM. They can build these items and not feed in lane, but they will be entirely dependant on blue buff and when they dont have it, they will be oom constantly as they get shoved under tower. My solution to this is to add an armor and mana item that is actually viable for mages to pick in mid. Something similar to
, but im thinking something along the likes of 300-400 mana or 100% mana regen, 45-50 armor, and then some AP and maybe even CDR. Like i said, i dont know how i would design it, but i think a Mana/Armor item would be a great fix to the awful experience that many are having as laning as mages.
