Remember Riot's reasoning on removing Karma's old passive?
For those of you who don't know, her old passive granted her AP based on missing health. Riot removed it, because they felt that an ability like that is very toxic - "it would punish enemies for playing well - if they succesfully harrass or trade with you they don't feel good, but rather get punished by Karma's now increased power."
Now, may we get a context on why is Lee Sin allowed to punish not one enemy, but an entire team for their tank/bruiser making the absolutely right moves: building defenses and being in the frontline? Oh, that's right. LC$BIGPLAYS. With a diverse meta these last few months I almost forgot that those take precendence over actual game balance and Riot's balance philosophy.
For comparison, imagine if Veigar's ultimate dealt a part of his damage in an AoE. That would not only punish an enemy mage for doing well, but also their team. This is absolutely the same situation. But Veigar isn't flashy, popular or sells skins, so he is actualy susceptible to being balanced.
