Passive: If you can't fight Shaco, just give up because running means you die faster.

Q: Control wards mean nothing. He'll gank you all the same and you won't know until he gets at least one free hit off on you. Good luck killing him too. Unless you keep him perma CCd he's just gonna Q away, maybe even over a wall and you'll have no chance to interrupt it or give yourself longer to kill them like with Eve and Twitch. You can get an Oracle's Alteration, but that'll only help with chasing him down. Oracle's won't do you much good when you don't even know there's a Shaco sneaking up on you to reveal. By the time he's in range to reveal, he's in range to E anyways.

W: Who doesn't like having to fill as much of the jungle as possible with control wards and still end up sticking to lane? Who doesn't like having to have oracle's or dusk blade up to make sure you don't trip a jack in the box? If you do though, have fun being hard CCd instantly by a trap out of stealth while it unloads massive damage into your raw buttocks? By the way, Shaco can drop this at your feet when ganking so HE gets the near instant hard CC from stealth. Or he could drop it in his tracks while running away! You know, since he doesn't already have a near guaranteed escape move. So he has this to block off his escape route.

E: Yeah so running is not only dangerous thanks to his passive, but useless thanks to his E. As for the active, imagine something along the lines of if Veigar had stealth. He can just point and click nuke you with no warning whatsoever, and from a decent range. Point and click, big damage abilities are already a little painful to go up against, but those from invisibility are just too much. If he's in range to be revealed by your Oracle's, he's practically already in range to nuke you.

R: His ult is annoying and tricky to deal with unless you have range. If you're melee your option is to kinda run from it or take the damage from its auto attacks until it dies, because killing it means ow. That kinda interaction is frustrating, but this ability is probably the most fair one on his kit. If you mess up and target his clone, it's because you failed to identify the tells or their Shaco knows how to pilot that thing like a god.

I think that explains why I REALLY want to see Shaco get a VGU. His kit isn't just getting old, it's a nightmare to play against while he's ahead unless you want to sacrifice a lot of your freedom so you don't get screwed. I love his theme too, and I think he could be a work of art, which is also why I want to see an update. His current kit though... I get PTSD from games played against him as non tank supports. I shouldn't say that, I couldn't survive his ganks even as a Tahm with 3 complete items and upgraded boots. T _ T

To really counter Shaco, you must learn what his basic kit is, and adapt to avoid the hell out of it. You can see is Deceive cloud even through the fog of war, don't keep your back to him, and if you play a champ that can easially show off who's the real shaco when he uses his R ( can see his vitals with her R, the clone has none and with his W on can smell out the real shaco even when invisible!) even more benefits for you.
