League of legends is on the brink of extinction =(

And it really makes me sad. A bunch of players are upset with the state of the game and a lot of them are just not playing as much. I am also one of those players. I have been playing this game since season 2 and I have seen everything since then. The progression of the game over the past year has been horrible and I find myself playing other games and barely playing 1 game a day of League. My friends as well as other members of the boards feel the same way and I'm sure that there are other players as well who have already stopped playing and do not care to shout out like I do. This game is about to set the record from being a game with one of the largest player-bases to a game that nobody plays anymore. If you do not believe me then lets look at some of the facts in a step by step form.

  • The game is becoming less and less fun overall as time goes on

  • Veteran players with higher ranks (Plat plus) are playing less games than normal

  • If this pattern continues queue times will go up

  • Players will not want to wait 10 mins+ for a game and they will go do something else

  • Making play times even higher

  • LCS this year was a total joke due to the item 3504 meta which Riot blatently ignored.

  • Because of this less people cared to watch these games or talk about how terrible they were.

  • Without player based advertisment less people are going to be watching future LSC games. +Without people watching these games less new players are going to come in.

  • On top of the fact that the new players experience is the worst new game experience I have ever seen in any game ever.

  • Because of this new players is a rare sight

  • So in the end your going to have all these players who are high bronze or silver maybe gold who have been playing for maybe 1 or 2 seasons with no new players coming in and no veteran players with very long queue times and no LCS games. With the rank ladder colapsing at both ends it will eventually move to the inner rungs of the rank ladder and end this game completely.

Riot I tell you now because I care about this game not because I want to see it fall. This plummet is inevitable. Eventually it happens to every game, HOWEVER you can do something to get a few more golden years out of this game and hopefully stay around as a great game. Riot you need to get your shit together when it comes to game balance. Us players have sat around for years with you guys constantly pulling these balance strings. Sometimes you guys nail it on the head Warwick and other times you let champions run out of control for years Yasuo . Please fix this once great game and make it great again. I love this game and I would hate to see nobody play it anymore. #Riotgetyourshittogether

No League died the moment Dunkey and Keyori quit making League content entirely, and when stream highlights become the main source of LoL entertainment on youtube.

Riot wouldnt release their falling number of players however if you have noticed matchmaking is getting worse and worse its because they are speeding up their falling queue times by making the range of rank less strict.

So you have nothing then. There is public stats you can use to support an argument like this, but if you're not even going to try that's fine. At least I know whether to pay attention to this thread or not.

That is another allegation, but you have yet to provide any proof. We didn't ask for another allegation, we asked for evidence of the first claim.

You can't just reply to people questioning you for claiming that horses eat bananas with, "Horses are just big asses." The second claim is unsupported too and it cannot be used to support the first claim.

"LoL isn't dying, its playerbase is growing" is what every new player says.

Then you remember that Riot is essentially giving veteran players the middle finger as they remove items, entirely rework champions and ruin the overall balance of the game.

Sure, LoL is enticing for newer players, but honestly that is rather short lived once they figure out that they almost need to pay2win in order to unlock all the champions in this game (especially with this new BE system) or when they finally hit 30, unlock all the champs that they want and then finally discover that ranked is futile to remain committed to. It's interesting for the first few weeks/months, then players will likely move onto other games or keep LoL as a side game.

LoL isn't facing extinction just yet, however, if they fuck up next year they might well see a drastic decline in veteran players and new players alike as they finally realise that Riot does not listen to its playerbase and is in it for the money. I mean...they're siding with chinese investors (TenCent), you really think they give a damn about us when their annual revenue continues to skyrocket past 21 million a year?

Not yet but when numbers start to dip it will rapidly decline fast. I'm not saying it's going to happen now or soon but if things continue like they are then it will.

Look at all the unhappy players on the boards. Garenteed that most of those players have switched to another game and/or are searching for a new game to play. The current state of LOL is horrible. Not saying that players wont come back but right now players are deffinitly leaving. Also if you look at the terrible quiality of matchmaking lately you can tell that there arent enough players to match games fairly.

Do you think I dont know that? Riot never changes from the preseason. Look at season 5 with devourer. That thing was broken all season. Marksmen season 6 were overpowered AF for 7 months and still are in season 7. Lethality is running the game right now.
