Since Ekko's ult throws him 4 seconds back in time

Unless stunned, snarred, or knocked up (which stops you from ulting anyway) shouldn't his ult technically cleanse if he wasnt CC'd at the point of which he's going back to? Like if he is slowed, has a duskblade passive attached, or Zed ulted, shouldn't his ult allow him to go back to before him being debuffed?

Thematically it makes sense, however gameplay wise it would be overpowered. Extreme situational nuke, invulnerability during transfer, heal, and displacement usually in his favor is enough without needing a cleanse on top of that.

Technically it should also cost him gold / xp and possibly rewind him to a state where he had different debuffs.

Yeah, this.

No, it shouldn't.

Makes sense, but he doesn't need to be safer than he already is.

Yeah I getchu. Just a thought since he is time travelling and not just teleporting.

remember how in the cinematic he kept the damage that Zaunian brute did to him?

by this logic he should not even heal

He keeps 80% of the damage he took. He only heals 20%.

Sure, as long as we also change is ult to undo all damage he's done on other champions in that four seconds as well. :)

Also, if he used abilities 4,3,2 and 1 seconds ago, he should reset his cooldowns XD

And his ult....

On the flip side: wouldn't it also make sense that, if Ekko was knocked up 3.9 seconds before he ulted, that he'd get double-CCed and knocked up again?

I don't think that's accurate, actually. Remember in the animation, each time he went back after making a mistake he still seemed to be in pain if the previous fight had resulted in him being hit? I'm pretty sure his device allows him to travel through time, but just that, not adopt the body of his past self.

Before going back he was almost dead, after he was tired and damaged but not so badly

The only thing ekko should cleanse with his ult that would be balanced would be a zed or dusk blade in my opinion

why not just slap 4 second Fiora's Riposte instead of his Ult?

you can just use the ult to time when the pop will go off already. that is enough. the ultmakes you untargetable like Fizz E so you won't take any damage. just time it right.
