@Meddler Why nerf CoC when specific champions are the ones causing you to nerf it?

If you think nerfing CoC is going to put them in line relative to other tanks/divers, you really do need a new balance team.

Camille Hecarim LeeSin Maokai Poppy Zac Vi are not even close to the majority of champions using CoC.

Even then, the problem isn't that they're too tanky, or building damage and still ending up tanky...

#The issue is that there's too much damage in the game right now, which allows divers and some tanks to function like the Assassins of old...while having 3k-4k HP and 150+ of each resist.

Don't nerf them for being tanky. They're building to be tanky. That's working as intended. Nerfing tankiness currently only puts damage even further out of line.

#Address the damage creep in the game. ALL of it. Not just on tanks/divers.

When that many champions are proven too good because of a single mastery, it is easier to balance around changing the single mastery and giving small buffs if needed to the very few other champions who use CotC as their main mastery, rather than trying to make changes to tons of champions.

When tanky champions are nuking squishies with nearly full-tank builds still, its pretty foolish to blame the mastery that makes them tankier and actually caused most to stop going 18/12/0 or 12/18/0.

The issue isn't CoC. Its damage across the board.

If anything, CoC needs to be removed, along with the other 2 Resolve keystones, and 3 new keystones created: One for engaging (offensive), one for peeling (supportive), and one for soaking damage (defensive).

I'll go one step farther and say some tanks, especially the juggernaut pit is capable of one shotting EVERYONE even other tanks with the greatest of ease. you have to be a very specific champion designed to counter them to even hope to be on their level.

Because CotC was OP on a lot of champs, not just those ones. Some people who you wouldn't think use it. For example Riven. It was also too strong on Maokai, Nautilus and would be on Leona if not for the 'fuck you' meta bot lane. I actually cannot think of a healthy user of the mastery.

Its a bit of a stretch to say any of those are too strong because of CoC.

With where the meta is, they could outright remove CoC and a lot of the current champions would not fall out of meta. They would be doing the exact same thing, just without a shield.

The problem is damage, not durability.
