Lucian Questions

I enjoy the champion but I seem to have issues just playing him. I always go behind and I don't know exactly why. So I have some questions and hopefully you have answers.

The Korean Build Why is it so special? When should I build it? Should I build the same thing each game or make adjustments

Positioning I never seem to do well in positioning, my ulti, poke, anything. How do I position myself to not get bursted in teamfights but deal the most possible damage?

Tanks How do I burn through tanks as I hope the build is supposed to do that. Last game I had to get a LDR and it still wasn't enough. (Probably because I fed)

And anything in general would be helpful. Also since lucian wont be open every game what champion is similar that I could play when lucian is gone?

I'm not exactly a Lucian main myself, but in my experience (and from what I saw in the two games of yours that I looked at) my comment would be more about your leveling order. I find that maxing his E tends to help with his ability to cycle his abilities, and in turn, his passive more effectively. The main reason Black Cleaver is very strong with him is because his passive gives him a free stack toward his armor pen. Using his passive to build those stacks quickly means you can shred armor much more effectively.

I always try to engage with E so that you can get the first use of your passive off and each use will begin to decrease it's cooldown so that after you have used your W, passive, Q, passive (or Q then W), your E will be close to, or up again already.

Positioning for any marksman typically has a lot to do with your ability to dodge in and out from behind minions. Lucian is actually much more forgiving for this because of his high mobility from E and his ability to gain bonus movement speed from his W. His Q is also a pass through skillshot so he can utilize this from behind minions. Unfortunately he also has a tendency to get a little close while doing this. Good enemies will know when to turn on him and blow him up pretty quickly. Beyond that, your positioning really has much more to do with practice, intuition, and your ability to work with your support/team.

In response to the korean build generally it's favored because the armor pen is insane. You deal near true damage to squishy and shred tanks.

Since Lucian got a damage nerf and Q range nerf he has been harder to play. The secret, you cannot be too passive with him. To be a good Lucian you have to figure out how to trade in lane so you can begin your snowball. If you can't do that, you will fall behind rather quickly because he falls off after 35 minutes (give or take 10 minutes). Also, don't save your ultimate attack to be a "finisher". Use it to wear down your opponents and finish them off with your aggressive play.

Disclaimer - I'm only speaking from what I see better players do and what I try to do as well. Unfortunately I need a good support to accomplish it, maybe one day I will be able to do it on my own.
