ARAM there should be an option to retain a pick in case someone dodges

This of course would not occur if you yourself dodged or what-not.

But seriously, you get a pick that you like, and someone asks for a trade, and when you don't wanna trade they just leave to piss you off so that no one gets their way.

ARAM has always been a lottery, some people get what they like and others dont. But no one should be cheated out of a pick that was originally given to them just because some people are salty assholes.

Also, as further disincentive, the penalty for dodging an ARAM should be twice as long, which is about an average length of an ARAM game.

Of course, but to stay true to ARAM, once you lock in a champion, you cannot reroll, and that carries over to the next game if someone dodges. I think that would keep it as fair as possible.

The only potential problem I see with this is overlapping lock ins forcing the system to look harder to find matchups with heterogenous comps (potentially longer queue times). This could probably be fixed mostly by having lockins work on a charge system like rerolls so that there arent too many lockins flooding the system

I think this is a fabulous idea and would be very healthy to the community. All to often you get the Nid/Blitz/Teemo/Ziggs you've been subconsciously craving and POOF, someone decides to dodge leaving you heartbroken. You're a true ARAM fan so you take the next pop and play out your game where the poke comp enemy team blasts you to Noxus and back while you hide under tower with your all melee team... But a small win every once in a while in the form of getting to keep that good roll would be awesome. I think it would placate some of the champ select toxicity and make more people migrate back to the game mode.
