Diana's E has way too long of a cooldown for what it does

If it is so high for a reason I'm not even sure what the reason would be.

It's a miniature Orianna ultimate, what are you talking about?

Heretic Lunari15 votes

It takes a lot of energy to be able to pull the whole enemy team toward you solely by hitting the blade to the ground. That's why.

NoPaxt7 votes

I disagree, as an avid Diana player, her E is fine. It's meant to combo with and not be stand alone. At level 6 her E is even slightly broken broken as you can delete anyone with it.

Moonfall Saber3 votes

You can delete anyone with an ability that does no damage....

NoPaxt3 votes

So, it's not the CD or "what it does" that's the issue, you have no idea how to use it, that's what you're saying...

Sulghunter1 votes

It can help a Yasuo ult...

NoPaxt3 votes

You can proc her passive 3 times in 2 sec with it, on top of deleting 2-3 champs

Moonfall Saber1 votes

her new passive was a bandaid to a broken champion? yea that one

NoPaxt2 votes

So all I get out of this thread is that Diana owns you and you can't player...

Moonfall Saber1 votes

Lol I main Diana

NoPaxt1 votes

By maining you mean played only 10 times over the last 30 days....

Then yeah I main her too, and her E is perfect as is.

Bârd1 votes

Elise cocoon also does no damage.

That doesn't mean landing a cocoon won't lead to the target getting instagibbed.

Sire Hippington4 votes

And to high manacosts...for a rather situational tool that is gated high CD, i feel the 70 mana are out of place.

Frightning4 votes

AoE hard CC that happens to be a displacement effect? (hi Yasuo) It definitely has a high CD for a reason. Also, it's got a bitchin strong slow on it too which last for a while and doesn't diminish over the duration. It's her sticking tool to keep on someone she's trying to kill (in addition to her R and interaction with Q).

Arakadia3 votes

I dunno it seems pretty strong. Just in case you were going to out run her double dash (under the assumption Diana landed Q), her E is a very potent slow with a displacement. You cannot even dodge her E if your in the circle unless you dash out with really good prediction times. (Does her E stop dashes? I don't remember.)

I don't think her E's cooldown is warranted however if you buffed its cooldown much at all you would need to remove power elsewhere. Its just the way she is balanced currently.

90% of the time you dont need your E at all, unless you are playing bruiser Diana or have an Orianna on your team you dont need it to get a kill 1v1. Honestly its a almost situational ability and in no way was she balanced around this.

I Main Swain2 votes

i mean you dont need it but until you get so fed that you can insta people it helps a buttload to increase your damage without making you burn the full ult cd, especially at the start of the game. its snowballed me many times against immobile mid laners.

I beg to differ, even on burst Diana, you usually don't 100-0 everyone with just Q+R+W, you need your passive a few times depending on how much tank the target has, that's where E is really important. Sure, late game, I catch an ADC unprepared they will die before I even get to E them. But someone like an Irelia trying to stop my splitpush? Going to need more than Q+R+W to kill her.

It's extremely useful for picking up kills earlier in the game, since it often buys you the time you need for your Q to come back up so that you can QR them twice and still have R up. It's also what lets Diana be a makeshift initiator once she has Hourglass.

It's a knockback, duh.

machette1519763 votes

god this diana circlejerk in here is depressing, literally went first time diana in plat 1 b4 the fuckin buffs and completely stomped people with my absurd damage ratios and resets rofl. stop complaining about your broken champ plz

Sraeg20132 votes

Which buffs though?

If you meant the last change, that's hardly a buff, I'd even go as far as saying it's a nerf, because without E's passive procing her innate(THE passive) feels like garbage and you need to expend mana to keep the AS boost on.

The last change was definitely a buff. You're going to have 50% AS almost all the time you're actually fighting, it helps you get your first passive proc off on someone much faster, and if you properly sequence your abilities you can have it for 6-9 hits pretty easily.

It also makes her one of the fastest tower killers in the game, which makes her splitpush game much stronger.

Khristophoros3 votes

No it's the other way around. Other CC abilities have too short cooldowns.

Miraweave3 votes

It really doesn't. The ability's actually really strong, especially after they buffed the pull range.

Moonfall Saber1 votes

You mean nerfed... They never increased the range of the pull just the ammount it pulls. It also now pulls melee champions right on top of you when you are trying to use it as a slow. You can no longer use it to escape. I play Diana enough times to know that it was more useful before than it is now.

Pull range meaning the distance it pulls them. It went from being basically just a mediocre slow to an incredible sticking tool.

Losing the ability to sort of use it as an escape in a way that never really worked well to begin with was more than worth gaining the ability to drag the person you jumped on back into auto range without having to blow an ult on them.

It even has more CD than her ult LUL

Arakadia3 votes

This isn't unique to Diana, to have a basic ability with a longer cd then their ult.

KoKoboto1 votes

Diana is interesting because this is one of the abilities that deals absolutely no damage, like that's so rare for a champion.

Depending on how you want Diana to work her E could be changed and stuff. Lowering the CD could promote fighter builds, currently she is mostly diver / assassin so the long CD makes sense.

zilean e??

KoKoboto3 votes

Yep. Zilean E is also rare. Lulu W Anivia W Yorick W Elise E Jarvan W

I think that's most of them...

138 champions x 4 (abilities) = 552 abilities (kinda) 7 out of 552 abilities don't deal any damage. I don't really count shields because they negate damage so I wouldn't really count Jarvan W but whatever.

0.01% of champions.

More abilities than you think fulfill this criteria

teemo W

Singed W

Arakadia1 votes

Ashe E, Trynd Q, Rakan W(or its E, whichever ally dashes), the other Elise E, every transformation R, Mundo R, Riven E, Lux W, Master Yi E....

There is a lot more.

KoKoboto1 votes

Rakan W does damage and his E negates damage. I mentioned Elise E.

I don't consider shields because they negate damage, I'm talking about offensive spells, spells you use on the enemy but don't deal damage.

Akali W Alistar R Ashe E AurelionSol W(?) Bard R, W, E Blitzcrank W Braum W, E Camille R Diana E DrMundo R Draven W(?) Ekko W Elise R Galio W Gangplank W Garen W Kindred R Kayle W, R Kayn E Lucian E(?) Lulu W MasterYi W Nasus W Nidalee R, human E Nocturne E(?) Rengar W Shen W Sivir E Sona E Taric W (might not count, as he casts spells off of it), R Teemo W Tryndamere R TwistedFate R Yasuo W Zilean E, R Zyra W

Conclusion: There's a lot of abilities that deal no damage. Most of them are on W and R, with the exception of some E's. The only Q that truly deals no damage is Taric's Q, but it's used to chain the hell out of his passive, so I'm not sure it counts.

Chembaron Yamada1 votes

Camille R Well, it kinda does deal damage.

Camille's AAs are dealing additional magic damage to the marked target. So, I would count that ability as "dealing damage".

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

I wasn't aware of that.

KoKoboto1 votes

Sigh I posted my criteria but I don't feel like posting it again..

LordGeovanni1 votes

AurelionSol 's w increases his passive damage when it expands but his e does no damage

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

I mixed them up. There's a reason I put ? after it.

manliestdino1 votes

It's noc w btw, his e is the fear

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Thanks. Mixed them up.

Bârd1 votes

A.Sol W gives passive damage on stars, and active damage amp. Blitz W gives attack speed, increasing his DPS. Camille R gives on hit magic damage. Draven W gives AS, increasing DPS. Ekko W gives passive on hit damage on low HP targets. Noc E does a small amount of magic damage to the target. Rengar W does magic damage around him. Look up AP Rengar, scary.

LordGeovanni1 votes

i mean if you cant count sheild because they negate damage any speed up or mobility spell negates damage too by virtue of them not being able to hit you you missed Lucians e and' threshes ult'

LordGeovanni1 votes

Fighters have long cooldowns on stuff like that if it wasnt that long her w or q would need to be longer. which would bess with her mobility damage and defense. only buff dianna needs is for her ult to consume her q mark and make the delay 1second to 0.5 seconds so that she can jump from 1 champion marked with her q to the next before the q mark fizzles
