So what happens to my ranked team?
I have been trying to put together a ranked team for so long. Last year, I finally got one started that was actually going to play together regularly. Our starters consist of:
Top Lane: Silver 4 Jungle: Silver 2 or Gold 1(?) (we have two junglers who play regularly, and one is high gold, but I don't remember exactly where) Mid: Bronze 3 Bot Marksman: Gold 3 Support: Gold 1
We worked hard this last year, and were very proud of ourselves for coming together in team ranked, starting in Bronze 3 or 4 and over the course of last year we climbed our way to silver. It was amazing, because we played all sorts of good teams, bronze teams, with platnium and diamond ranked players on them. Needless to say, we lost a bunch of those, but we also won quite a few as well.
RIOT stated that Dynamic was "an indisputably better experience to play with friends", and while I really like the new queue, I can't help but disagree with this statement given my circumstances.
With the ranked restrictions in play, our team cannot currently play together in Dynamic ranked as one of our players is bronze. Even if our bronze player grinds to silver, if over the course of this season our two Gold players cross over to platnium, that restricts even more of us from playing together. I can't see how this is a good thing, since if they want to play with us in a competitive environment, (aka not casual normal games) they can't grind the ladder. That is not fair to them or us, and it certainly doesn't support the "better way to play with friends" claim that was made by RIOT.
RIOT, please reconsider your stance on this, I have worked hard to form my team and we worked hard to learn to play together as a team and grew out of team bronze rank. We want to keep playing together. Please support us, we can't be the only ones who feel this way.
EDIT: Also forgot to mention: the other thing that goes away with team ranked is team name and stats. I and my team really enjoyed looking at our stats from a team perspective rather than as individuals. It may seem minor, but it makes a big difference when playing with friends.
