You want to know why nobody wants to support anymore?

Because the best champs there are boring as hell, and there's no reason to run ignite anymore.

First, the best and second most popular support is Janna. Janna is nothing more than a walking cuck button. Anyone that goes in gets blustered away. Her E is just an AD steroid and HP for her bot laner. Not much interaction. People attempt to ail this lack of solid support champs bottom by playing mid laners there. Brand and Zyra are also amongst the most popular supports. People only like playing them because they do damage, but also because everyone else sucks OR isn't fun.

Ignite just doesn't get run anymore because summoner 3 is the most broken summoner in the game. As a result, it just seems like there isn't much killing between the bottom laners, at least 2v2.

Now you could get into the fact that jungle is broken currently but I believe that the crappy array of supports that are good currently and the fact that exhaust is so stupid broken are the primary reasons nobody wants to support.

Also supports are like 3 levels behind everyone at all times, so their stats are pathetic compared to other people.

Huh, I thought the numerous autofilled ADC players would have something to do with it.

with janna you should time your shields nicely which is not easy, soraka is much easier to be effective (janna is easy to get a good kda but it doesn't meant hat janna is very useful, especially during laning)

oh, zyra or something is much easier and less fascinating too

I got autofilled in my last match, of course it was support. I went Janna, because she is fast and funny and is good against Akali and Rengar if played well. I am not going into game analysis now, who cares about that in this topic. But, tbh, I liked it! If you think Janna isn't useful you don't know her true potentional. She has almost no damage, yeah (Dunno how I KSed so many kills) but her utility is incredible. You know you can Q Rengar while he is jumping to your ADc? You know you can ult as well to cancel it? You are incredibly fast, so you can go help top laner while your ADc is on the way back to lane. How is this not funny? You have so big control of the game. Who cares about damage at this point? Control is more, at least in my honest opinion. She can do much and more in right hands. And no, I am not support main, I almost never picks support but I don't mind if I get autofilled. Supports may feel unnecesary, because you don't do much damage, but believe me, support isn't only about ward this, ward that, babysitt your ADc and then just walk around in teamfights, there is a reason why we have them in game.

The class that is suppose to "go ward" has no mobility. Janna players place the most wards because she is fast and it is a little safer. It's like some rule that supports must not have any mobility. All I can think of is bard tunnel, braum w, situational stuff like thresh hook. You can go Gragas support and now it's safe to ward all over bc you can E over a wall. I spam Janna and Soraka for the free elo they give but I also dabble in some Ahri bc I can do crazy risky things like warding dragon pit when my ult is up. Also I wish people would give Nasus or even Warwick a chance. In a 2v2 wither is so OP, can be as low as a 6.05 cooldown and last for 5 seconds up to 95% move speed slow and 47.5% attack speed slow plus E armor shred you fkng win that fight they dont even get away when they realize they're toast! And when ww gets lv 6 the enemy Lucian is never safe from flash ult.

Denying kills is quite fun, and feels quite rewarding when you manage to time a janna q to interupt an otherwise lethal less sin q or rengar leap or similar. The support playstyle isn't for everyone for sure, but I actually find it quite exciting to dart into the fray, get my carries out with a sliver of health, and then make my own escape.

Since I don't do a ton of damage, I'm usually not targeted unless I'm way out of position, so I never have those helpless moments when I'm vi ulted->naut ulted->dead that feel all too common when I adc. As a peeling support I pretty much always feel like if I die, it was entirely my fault, so anytime I don't have a perfect game, it's easy to spot areas to personally improve. In other roles, I feel like theres a lot of temptation to brush over personal failures and blame the team(/support) for not peeling well enough.
