A reasonable Warwick Nerf

I'd actually consider it a bit more of a bug fix than a nerf. But it would reduce his power.

A lot of people have been complaining about WW's power level in the preseason. The only thing that has changed for him is that he now has easier access to stronger on hit effects. His ult is annihilating people's health bars, due to Infinite Duress's five on-hit procs.

When discussing WW's balance, a lot of people will just tell you to buy a QSS.

Here's the problem: cleansing infinite duress removes the suppression, but WW's animation continues, and you continue taking damage from the five free auto attacks his ult gives him.

As far as I know, it's always been like this. It's easy to test. Play gangplank. Have WW ult you. Instantly cleanse the ult with an orange. You won't be suppressed anymore, but the animation will continue and you will continue taking damage.

This is, most importantly, totally counter-intuitive. If you cleanse Malzahar's ult, the ability stops and you stop taking damage. If you cleanse WW's ult, he keeps shredding your health bar.

This weird interaction also prevents a lot of potential counterplay. A WW who stacks on-hit effects can deal an insane amount of damage with his ultimate. Even if you get a QSS, WW's ult will still shred your health bar--it just wont suppress you. QSS is an awkward item to build with only one upgrade path that happens to be useless for many champions. There is a massive opportunity cost to with purchasing QSS. If you go out of your way to build a QSS, you should be able to totally cleanse his ult (just like you can totally cleanse Malz's ult).

Its not 5 auto attacks, the damage from the channel continues.

No it doesn't/ Cleanse malzahar's ult and the damage will continue UNTIL you get out of range.

Um...no... Counter play for people such as yourself = preventing the damage entirely. That isn't particularly fair for a character who is melee, has a circumstance based MS boost, and no utility/gap closer outside of his ult.

If the only thing a character can do is rely on hi ult to be relevant in a team fight, it needs to stay relevant, especially when he self suppresses him as well. Slow him, kite him, stun him during his ult. Otherwise, Malzahar deserves a nerf, but holy shit, neither of those two are considered the best characters out there.

Malazahar's ult continues to deal damage too actually.
