Stomp or be stomped meta
Maybe its just me but most of my games lately have been stomps one way or the other. I personally hate these metas and think I am going to have to quit the game again. I am just not having fun right now in ranked. Played 3 games last night and all 3 were stomps. Hell 4 of my last 5 games have been stomps. And yes.... they go both ways sometimes you win sometimes you lose. But I hate that. I like games that feel competitive and make me think for a majority of the game. And as someone who is currently stuck in silver who is trying to get back to gold this is an extremely frustrating meta for me. I ranked 3 accounts to gold last season in large part because I learned more about 1. how to get carried when behind, and 2. how to rotate, prioritize objectives and play the mid/late game. The problem right now is one team generally is so far down in gold that even in gold 5-silver 2 its hard to see a real mid/late game. Which to anyone who has played this game as long as me that's pretty hilarious because what do us low elo players love to do? THROW. So when you get better at mid to late game and taking advantage of the eventual throw situation metas where games are early close really work well for me. But now its just one team getting a bunch of kills, grabbing a couple dragons, new herald, and pushing your nexus.
I tried to switch to play mid but I am a mage player. But right now most of what I see is assassins (
) or mobile mage
(is she considered a mage?). Now the reason this sucks is not saying these champs are op they are just hard to abuse in lane unless you are much better than your opponent. Now when games don't snowball out of control I can take advantage of these players because these types of low elo players are generally good at building a nice lead if they have the opportunity but throwing late game. But right now... the chances of them reaching late game is lower so they have more success. So even if I go even with them in lane they are still more mobile and will roam for kills eventually.
So guess I go back to jungling...but honestly can't stand that right now. I just don't get what to do in it anymore. Tried playing one
game last night and was thinking of where enemy
would be. After she failed gank top and went top and helped get a kill but meanwhile she just roamed mid got a kill.... and then like instantly ran bot and got a kill and an assist. Then proceeded to gamk my toxic inexperienced top laner over & over who kept pushing to enemy top turret and getting mad when he would get ganked even when it was warded and you could see vi coming. I was just speechless. I am not used to lanes having no clue of where enemy jungler is... especially when they reveal themselves on the map but are just ignored anyways. I try to ward and ping out the enemy but that doesn't seem to matter..... at least in us getting stomped games. Then next game I play I get jungle again and this time I have the teammates who know wtf is up an we snowball hard and we destroy them. We take all enemy jungler camps, constantly dive them as 3 and get many kills where they open mid. I just..... don't get why so many games are like this. I miss having a mid game, I miss getting to use my veteran knowledge to win games in silver because kids are so damn dive happy late game. Hell... my 3rd and final game last night we were down early and getting dove as 5 constantly. I even called it that the enemy
would throw along with his teammates. Me & my top laner
were both gold 3 last season so we were both on the same page and even though we were both down early we knew enemy would throw. So we kept playing and started catching up when enemy started diving us at nexus turrets. It was starting to go pretty well until our adc d/c or rage quit.. idk... they just randomly left and never came back. So basically that was instantly GG.
Call me old, call me bad, whatever. Just saying I am not having fun right now. I miss having evenly matched games like I had last season in mid gold. Literally roughly 7/10 games or so would be even a majority of the game and it was hard to tell who was going to win. I get like 1 game like that every 10 now. Hell... my best game recently was an autofilled adc game where I went 11-3-11 as
with a pentakill but looking at those stats you wouldn't know our team was originally down 17-6 getting destroyed. Luckily I had teammates willing to work together and fight through the enemies eventual throw. But still... that games wasn't close until closer to 30 mins in.
