Is Ahri ever going to get nerfed?

Akali is SO HOT··5 votes·1,221 views

She's been one of the best midlaners in the game since the beginning of Season 5. She rarely falls under the top 10 winrates and she's one of the highest pickrate midlaners to go along with that. She currently has a 53.5% winrate (4th highest) and a 13.2% pickrate (3rd highest). Not very many champions have been strong that long, but for some reason she gets special treatment when most other champions would be instantly gutted if they got anywhere near those stats.

She really isn't that good, the reason she is good in solo queue are these reasons

1: Pick with e 2: Safety with r 3: Wave clear with q

Why she sucks

1: Actually has the worst damage if behind 2: Squishy 3: Relies on skill shots 4: Hard to play in teamfight because one cc and you die 5: she has very low damage in lane until first back or lvl 6 6: Cannot clear waves if behind 7: All, let me repeat, ALL of her counters are meta or really really good right now, Yasuo Zed Katarina Syndra Leblanc etc.

So

Why does she need a nerf?

  1. Ahri's damage is good at all stages of the game unless she's really far behind. Her true damage makes her damage really good for clearing waves and doing damage regardless of how far ahead or behind she is.
  2. She's ranged and has a ton of mobility so her squishiness is nowhere near as bad as someone who is melee.
  3. W and R do massive amounts of damage and are targeted and Q isn't very hard to land. E is the only skillshot that takes some brain power to use.
  4. Same as number 2
  5. If you've ever played as or against Ahri you would know that's just plain false
  6. Same as number 1
  7. Yasuo is banned all the time, Zed is garbage, Ahri goes even with if not wins against Kat, Syndra is countered by Ahri not the other way around, and Leblanc beats Ahri but falls off later in the game while Ahri gets way stronger.

She needs a nerf because:

  1. She's too safe for the damage she does
  2. Lane sustain makes her hard to push out of lane and makes it hard to put her behind
  3. Half of her kit is targeted and she only has one skillshot that takes brainpower to land
  4. She's not weak at any point in the game
  5. She's been one of the best midlaners in the game with one of the highest pickrates for two whole seasons.

HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA AAAA HOHOHOHOOHOHOHO YOU SERIOUS?

Dude, look at my profile, I know what I am talking about,

(1) Then, Ahri DOES NOT, clear waves if she is behind, her true damage does not mean she clears waves, (2) I mean hey, she has to have some strengths. (3) Really? Yeah, w and r are targeted, but r only shoots 1 of its 3 potentail balls to a single target, meaning it's damage is really really sad, her w has no damage early. her q and e ARE hard to land unless the people trying to dodge it are some form of Bronze, which, I dunno maybe they are most people seem to be. (4) Duh, (5) Really? Same thing, look at my profile (6) Yeah, pick, same with someone like Lux its liek, oh no a mage with pick, what are we gonna do. (7) Zed shits on Ahri if he isn't actually bronze 5, Syndra out pokes ahri and one shots her until ahri has both MR and zhonya, lb beats ahri period, ahri does not outscale its a matter of how they play teamfights, Kat is actually broken right now, all she has to do is bait out ahri's e and then she wins.

(1) No, Katarina Leblanc are to safe with their damage and mobility. (2) she heals MAYBE 30-50 health if she gets full wave at lvl 6 (3) again, look back to (3) ^ (4) so is EVERYONE ELSE IN THE GAME (5) And you are crying about that?

Her true damage makes her damage really good for clearing waves

Do you even know what true damage does?

Her true damage makes her damage really good for clearing waves

Minions don't have armour or MR though.

Zed is not even near really good right now.

If I could chose 1 mid laner that I could nerf, itd actually be Ahri. Idc if Syndra oneshots me by pressing R, idc about LB or Corki or anything. Zilean and Lux are close but.. fk Ahri lul.

Hopefully that Protobelt Lichbane build gets her nerfed... I believe.

Akali is SO HOT4 votes

Mine would be Lux with Ahri in second place.

She is a jack of all trades master of none.

You could just pick any other mid laner and do 3x more damage and provide more utility than ahri can in a team fight easily at the cost of less mobility and no charm.

Edit: barely 2 minutes after and there are already down votes, good thing riot doesn't listen to people who do nothing but whine on the forums about champions that arn't an issue. I don't know why i even bother wasting my time giving legit answers when we all know you and the other low elo players won't listen :^).

The reason she won't get nerfed is because she's not good for being a strong champion but because you removed a variable from the game.

Ahri won't always snowball but unless she fucks up a fair bit she won't feed, and that's huge for other lanes and relieves pressure from the jungler with her on his team. Truth is in terms of power level, there are a ton of mids who are far stronger. The issue is you don't know if they'll feed or do something stupid because of their immobility and/or awkward mobility + peel.

Best thing to really do is ignore or zone her and focus on other lanes until the mid-game and group up. I've lost so many games off that and won another huge chunk of games doing that to the enemy.

If I had to hazard a view, it would be that Ahri falls off late game in terms of damage (If you build 0 defense, don't complain when you get picked to die);

Her waveclear is decent (until Ludens where it of course increases to be decent unless you're quite ahead, which then it becomes very good);

Her ult lets her open various play paths, whether for safety or to make higher end plays -- it's an annoyance, but much of her skill cap comes from this. If you just use it for escape, that's a lesser utilization of what it can do.

Is it powerful however? Absolutely. But that's a window of power. She's significantly weaker without it in comparison to when she has it, whereas champions such as Viktor, Zilean, Kayle, Anivia, Jayce, Morgana, etc. have far more uptime on windows of power to be more useful in full fights and skirmishes. Is it frustrating that she's so safe? Yes. Makes it incredibly annoying and leads to misplaying against her [ in not respecting that she has her ultimate, to simply gameplay wise] or allowing her to get far ahead. However, if you calm down and accept what Ahri's strengths are and respect them, it isn't as harrowing to be angry at what she's doing because most other mid laners will offer more if you can play them in a skilled manner. Ahri is a strong champion, but not that strong. Just very consistent.
