It's so easy to beat assassins

-All you gotta do is change your runes to be entirely defensive -switch your masteries to be defensive (exhuast or barrier) -Rush a defensive item in seekers that gives no mana regen or cooldown reduction. It also takes time to stack to become gold efficient.

Do all of this and you get rewarded with the ability to be slightly harder to kill.....all at the cost of lane pressure, kill pressure, item powerspikes, and really any chance at winning the lane.

But don't worry. Those pesky assassins also have to change their playpattern as well. They are 'gasp' forced to rush hexdrinker. A super cost efficient item with a passive that negates any chance you had of killing them. Oh and its upgrade in maw is a core item on them anyways so it's not like your delaying their powerspike or changing their build path.

But hey it all worked out for you in the end anyways. These changes let you stop the assassin from farming up....wait no your oom from the seekers rush. But I guess you were able to not die to them....errm never mind they still kill you, it just takes a fraction of a second longer. But by playing completely safe and hugging your tower 24/7 you were safe....damn you still died because towers are nothing more than decorations and that pesky zed just jumped back with his shadows anyways. Okay I got it...play malphite with full armour runes and items.....they can't possibly kill you now.....and they roamed and got a double kill because you have no lane pressure. GG

all i need to confirm the above is the fact that at no point in time, does a pro player change their build path when opposed by an assassin, because they know what their goal is and what they have to do. the team just plays differently to manage them, they dont build differently because building differently actually hurts the team in an attempt to just "not feed"

what they do is standard item builds, and 3v1, and or jungler camps the lane or its turned into a farm lane.

scarra - "the only reason im going to rush seekers now is because im behind anyways, so were just going to go ahead and plan into the late game. i know it sucks, but hey, its how were going to win" "we just have to keep the towers up"

bjergsen - "seekers? nope, morello and kill him anyway because skill shots OP"

faker - picks olaf (wins)

other mid laners - standard build, 50/50 with comepnsating play styles.

no one is building different in higher elos when presented with a counterpick assassin.

summoner 3 is the better option always, if Im up to fight a Zed I always use it, it reduces his super burst A LOT, you don't need to change your runes. I must admit Zed has too much harrassment potential, which should be nerfed actually, but you can control them with proper ganks and by knowing when he is going to return to his shadow, just let them waste their shadow and gank them, or let them use it and immdiatly gank them, because they have NOTHING to do.

Still: they need nerfs on the harrassment, I have no problem with him farming with his Q, I have a problem with his poke through minions.

Also my mini spam:
