You can give Taliyah AOE Q back without increasing WAVECLEAR much.

Taliyah has been kicked out of the midlane, and is not even in the mid lane tab anymore. I don't think this was the vision of her rework, to make her a Jungler... Besides: all of her mains have been pretty miserable not having AOE q for over a year now, as 1. It's hard to harass the enemy laner. 2. It just feels weird, it still feels weird.

OK< so how do we make this Q ability (Threaded Volley) have AOE without increasing the dreaded (by riot) waveclear to previous levels? ** Threaded Volley still attacks single targets, however it has a secondary AOE which does 50% of the damage to minions and monsters.** This means the hits beyond the first deal even less damage, at 25%

Next we lower the base damage, scaling and cooldown, to lower waveclear even more and to have actual trade-offs. Q: damage: 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 / 170 (+ 45% AP) -> 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 40% AP) cooldown: 7 / 6 / 5 / 3 / 3 -> 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4

Another loss: Q will count as an AOE and no longer abuse Rylai's or Ravenous Hunter.

These are just ideas, they do not reflect balanced numbers, that's not my job. But I really hope Riot does something, Taliyah Mid is now an endangered species.

I wonder how strong this would make her, since Taliyah mid is actually in an ok spot right now. She has a pretty med-low playrate, but her winrate is above average.

EW is slower waveclear than before, but she still has time to roam so..

While it's a good change on paper you'd need to take into consideration that she isn't performing badly in both Jungle or mid lane.

YES PLEASE I NEED THAT AOE BACK

There's also the option of reverting the removal of the aoe and just giving the ability a real mana cost and/or reduce her unreasonable mana regen. The combination of the two allowed her to just refuse to interact with an opponent and roam whenever she wanted. Why Riot decided to delete her wave clear instead of just reducing her ability to afk waveclear I may never know.

As merely conceptional as this sounds to you giving that Q the AOE back I can tell you it's not going to be very likely for its more surreal purposes and having that edge over something a little less extreme than you think it should be.

Taliyah

I love me some taliyah. I played her endlessly when she was picked for worlds and in her dominant stage in the jungle. I played her a while after too. Always in the jungle as well. Her passive just works so well with it and your r as a ganking tool feels fair and also interesting to find ways to use it. That being said she’s destroyed by most junglers now as she has trouble clearing, comparatively. Honestly I would be happy to see her q do damage again to monsters but honestly I would leave all buffs behind if something as simple as her fucking worked ground was easier to work behind. It’s a big reason I think you don’t see her anymore mid. Or rarely. She fights against herself to even stay relevant in lane. Like the cooldown on her worked ground is actually so crazy how long it stays. Just a change of being able to use your abilities to their capabilities MORE often would be nice. But I guess that would be simplifying and push her towards every champ which is endless mana and endless ways to skillshot repeatedly. Idk I do agree that there should be a change if anything

Me sitting here patiently waiting to see the aatrox buffs for patch 9.19 that give him alot better wave clear

How about making it deal AoE Damage only to champions and keep the numbers the same? This would increase her poke and teamfight potential without affecting waveclear in any way.

I don't know how I feel about this.

I actually quit Taliyah when they removed the AoE, but recently started playing her mid again. And I was surprised to find myself enjoying her more than ever. Her current waveclear feels fair. She's able to instantly clear entire waves midgame if you: Build Ludens, use W on melee minions with E, and finally finishing them off 1 by 1 with Q.

Her current burst is insane, and I love it!

she is not in the mid lane tab because her play rate in mid is low. its about play rate not what riot thinks.

but i agree with the rest

Just saying, with how champions and lanes work, there is a risk that she will just return to midlane. Fair warning
