It's because when you press E your attacks become ranged, but there's no projectile. This means you can't animation cancel to attack while moving the way you can with any AD carry. You just have to complete a full attack animation, then move, then complete a full attack animation, then move... which not only feels awkward but is damn near impossible when you have high attack speed.

At high attack speeds you won´t even need to cancel your animations. Most Kayle builds put her at 2.00+ AS. Aether Wing is the only skin of hers that actually gets animation speed improvements at high AS, the others make her attack quickly even at 1.00 AS.

It´s not awkward. It´s how she was designed. At high attack speeds, just binding Player Move to A and Player Attack Move to S is more than enough for all the kitting you´ll be doing.
