Take into account the Flat Armor Shred on W that scales with Armor, the Aura that grants Armor to Allies which scales with Armor, the Damage that scales with Armor.

Take into account how spammable his skills are with 40% CDR and his Passive which reduces Cooldowns by 2 seconds. (Oh, and did I mention that his Passive also does Magic Damage which scales with Taric's Armor?)

Take into account his Q coupled with Spirit Visage which heals him for close to 700 HP every few seconds.

EDIT 1: And also his point-and-click stun that is also in a pretty low Cooldown from his CDR and Passive. EDIT 2: Getting ganked without Flash really isn't that bad. You can simply stun (and/or Smite) the most threatening player in the 2v1 then heal if you need to. Although, I would advise players not to put themselves in overly risky situations before you get your Cinderhulk and parts for your Frozen Heart.

Added a section explaining that right as you posted.

Once you have level 6, cinderhulk and a few cloth armors/warden's mail you can probably even hold your own in a 2v1. Just make sure you have the Second Wind Mastery.

EDIT: If you do a level 1 Krugs/Wraiths/Gromp start then TP back to lane, you can just freeze minions near your turret if they push or you can just bully with the level advantage if they don't.
