every single time whenever there is a lee sin and riven pick which happens so goddamn often, pretty much every game, they are all level 5?

They are popular champions so people play them a lot. Lee being the most popular in the game.

Mastery is less about skill than it is about how much you spam a champion.

Very true I played against a level 5 riven as irleia I went like 10-1 that game. In lane I was like 6-0. She was terrible I haven't played ireliea in months let alone against a level 5 riven.
