Riot stop treating supports like Welfare recipients

Back in Season 1, supports got to make money for themselves, had to know how to play everything in the game (aka last hit), and as a general rule.... be self-sufficient. Shit was glorious. Being a real man who managed his own affairs and who helped his team due to his own charitable nature instead of being a dedicated bitch to the ADC literally begging for pennies. Like Oliver Twist holding out his Targons begging "Please sir may I have the cannon minions". Shit is pathetic yo.

You need to stop these bums from being welfare recipients and make them contributing members to the Lol economy. Maybe they can work a minimum wage job like the Jungler with no steady source of income (never know when that gank is gonna pay off bruh) and maybe some day they can be a high roller like that ADC chilling in his low rider in his 15k gold McMansion.

But please for the love of God, stop handing these peasants gold for just existing and breathing.

-You've raised global gold, so these bums can get paid even more while doing nothing but 420 blazing it in bot lane bush. -You've made this role completely unreliant upon gold. Level 3 poverty blitzcrank 50 minutes in? Fapped to anime porn for 48 minutes of the game? No problem holmes, he still does the exact same thing as a level 18 blitzcrank. Full contribution whether this fucker living on the streets landed 0 grabs or 100 grabs. They have high utility not gated by anything. Doesn't matter what you have for brains (cheese, shit, trash, air) you aren't punished for it because the government cash comes in your mail every month. -Ward cap so these guys living off government cash money can spend less of their foodstamps on wards. -Gave everyone trinkets because god forbid their free global gold isn't enough for these bums. We'll give you foodstamps and welfare as well as free wards. -Created GP5 items only for supprots (sightstone) so they dont even need to spend their money

Seriously, how much free money are you going to give to these guys? How about you make them make their own money for once instead of relying upon government handouts? How about you make them have to take risks to be impactful lategame instead of 100% utility at all points in the game. Sona was used in WCG mid in S1.

Contrary to what you might think, I love supports. But it's time to stop holding their hand and set them free. No more government hand outs cause they cant last hit. No more begging on their knees to last hit that cannon minion with targons. I'm tired of being the bitch role and I want to be a real role. Start spending cash and making it rain on hoes. I'm tired of being the ADCs fat ugly sidekick who he only hangs out with cause you do his homework.

wiping someones butt isn't a real job. adc has to farm ON TOP of dealing with support shenanigans. god forbid supports actually have to do more than just harass the enemy like every other lane in the game. adc does everything a support does on top of farming

Yes because a support only harasses in lane Leona Thresh Braum and does nothing else. They don't help with Sustain Soraka Nami Sona nor do they help against engages or assassins Janna Zyra

Because every adc can escape an assassination by themselves, shield themselves, engage themselves, heal themselves, and provide cc. That's just common sense right?

they need to be fixed. handing someone gold just for breathing isn't good game design. if gold is a thing then why the fuck are supports exempt from this mechanic of needing to earn cash?

They earn their cash differently from others, granted they can just earn it from sitting around, but anyone can really. For me to earn money as a support, my ADC needs to be last hitting correctly, I need to be using an item, and I need to be constantly harassing. If I'm not harassing, I lose out on my money from Bandit, as well as Blue gold item (if I started it).

So I am earning it, and I'm earning it different than the other roles. If I'm doing my job correctly, the enemy she be under constant attack, and my ADC should be free farming which should, if they know what they are doing, give me more money because they can do so while the enemy is running away because they are dying.

The mechanic needed to earn cash for everyone else is last hitting, which supports also have to do if their ADC backs or dies, and this is harder for them (kinda) because they can't just use their abilities to farm and their AD should be lower than everyone else.

So, yes, if gold is just handed to us it's shitty, but it's not just handed to us anymore than your top lane speccing into the utility tree and sitting in the fountain, and any support getting the yellow gold item and letting the ADC farm probably won't be getting much gold in the grand scheme of things.

gold is pretty much handed to you. a support who afks is making almost as much gold as a support who works his ass off.

the issue is that gold is not tied to utility very much and the impact it makes is minimal.

the fact that supports function optimally with minimal gold is a testament to the fact that they need a fundamental rework. Riot took the easy way out when 0cs support became a thing. They decided to roll with it because well... there's only 4 lanes and 5 players.... and instead of making a fun mechanic like dota they made supports the bitch role

In my experience, passive supports make plenty less gold than active. I generally see a passive or losing support (which fits the passive mold as well because they can't do much) be behind me by around 2K at least which is near one support oriented item.

I don't know how it works in DotA, so I can't comment on that specifically, and I half agree that Riot did take the easy way out here, but what were they going to do? Outside of remaking the map for another lane or area of gold revenue sounds like a hefty task when what was being played worked.

On top of that, Riot did well in introducing the gold items and limited wards so that support champions could build things outside of wards, ward items, and boots.

Would I love for Riot to make the role better? Yes, but I don't know how they would do it, and anyone complaining without throwing out even BAD ideas isn't helping. You can call for reform all you want, but the current situation isn't broken, just maybe built with too much duct tape.

No, I doubt that he's stupid. He has a point I just can't find it.

And if he's trolling, well he's doing it wrong because his complaint is what most people that dislike to support seem to hate (or at least what I've seen), that the support role just doesn't make money like the other roles.

the thing is supports are balanced around not getting much gold. Unless you radically change the map there will always be someone that will get little to no gold unless you increase how much gold you get from pretty much anything significantly and that creates a whole new set of troubles. You don't need to make a ton of money to be impactful and although i rarely get as much gold as anyone on my team (except jungle) i still end up with enough gold to build the items i need along with a few selfish items if i so want. Supports don't need more gold as long as they are balanced the way they are and as long as the items they want to build doesn't reach the price of carry items
