The arrow indicator on Eve's W is nigh useless

Let me preface this saying I don't consider Evelynn overpowered or broken, nor am I coming off a game where an Evelynn stomped. This is something that has been on my mind since the moment her rework dropped.

Evelynn's W is her charm for those who don't play her, and it has a lot lot lot of stuff going on for a basic ability.

After a 2.5 second delay, Evelynn primes a mark on her target. Hitting a fully primed marked target charms them for [rank] time. It has more going on like MR shread and damage against monsters, but the charm is the important part here. To compensate for her having access to hard cc out of stealth, the victim gets a heads-up element in the form of an arrow pointing to Evelynn's location once the charm is fully primed.

And there in lies the issue. Any Evelynn player with a modicum of experience on the character will attempt to expunge the mark the instant it is fully primed, usually in the form of a max-range Q from stealth. Since Q has a travel time, that means casting Q the moment right before the charm is fully primed. In other words, before the arrow indicator even alerts her victim. She shows herself to the enemy before the UI element designed for counterplay against her does.

Just checking in on Evelynn's win and playrate at the moment, she appears middling overall in winrate with a sizable playerbase for a jungler. However, looking at her winrate with experience, it appears once Evelynn players have used her enough to catch onto the WQ timing, her winrate skyrockets to nearly 55% even at the lowest levels of play.

I want to reiterate that I do not think Evelynn is overpowered, but I think this is a strong example of a character having mechanics that mitigate what is supposed to be their own counterplay. And again while not broken at the moment, she is always on the precipice of being so since her relaunch, with a huge amount of her power budget being allotted to this hard CC out of stealth. I strongly feel like she is going to be a bit of a hassle to balance as long as this ability remains the way it is.

The most straightforward suggestion I can give for the ability is to move the arrow indicator earlier into the mark timer. Instead of showing up after 2.5 seconds along with the mark's fully primed cc, have the arrow indicate her location after 1 or 1.5 seconds, to give her enemy the same time to react, or attempt to react at least, as they can to other assassins with delayed damage mechanics.

I imagine this would hit her success rate at least somewhat, especially at higher elos where the reaction time and decision making will be better, so she may need compensation elsewhere, but first and foremost she should have the same degree of counterplay as her contemporaries without being allowed to circumvent it so easily.

it is useful because it means you can potentially shoot a blind skill shot such as a Varus ult and potentially kill the Eve instead of being killed. It's counterplay.

I like eve's kit because I think it has plenty of counter play through the stages of the game.
