So far I'm not enjoying Kindred's bonus range

In fact, it becomes more of a handicap the better I'm doing. I just had a game where I was schooling the enemy Lee Sin all through early game, but as I collected more and more stacks I kept falling further and further behind him. Literally. As in, due to my extended range, it got more and more difficult to stick to my targets. I kept having to manually over-ride my champion's innate desire to stand still and keep autoattacking, which ended up hurting my attack speed and allowing enemies to constantly get out of my effect radius. Sure, this is something that players who live at the skill-ceiling will probably circumvent easily - but is this suppose to be a point of mastery? Is she suppose to get harder and more intensive to play the better she's doing?

Couldn't the bonus range apply to her Wolf's Frenzy's effect radius instead of her attack range? So she can Q-hop more times in a given direction. If you want her to be less of a liability late-game - turning her into a sniper feels like a really incongruous direction to take her in and doesn't synergize with the rest of her PBAOE kit.

What you describe is called "orb walking" or "hit & run", and yes, it's kinda supposed to be a "point of mastery". But I mean, people in high Silver should already be able to orb walk at least decently well if they mainly play Marksfolks, it's not something super hard that only the pros can pull off. I didn't check your profile/ranking, so if you're in Bronze or something, I can understand your pain, but bonus range is a huge buff, there's no question about it. And no, she's not "supposed to get harder and more intensive the better you're doing", you're still supposed to orb walk even before you get stacks. In fact, it's ever more critical that you do it properly when you still have a short range, because then it's easier for your opponents to close the gap and jump on you.

I suggest you check a few tutorials on Youtube about how to do it properly.

I know how to kite and orb-walk. I got to Platinum with her in previous seasons, and I'm a Cassiopeia main right now, so kiting is pretty much second nature. However, I dislike how the bonus range changes how she feels to use. Tristana and Kog'Maw naturally want to be far away from the fight, and so increasing range doesn't feel alien on them. However, Kindred's dash range doesn't increase - meaning the longer the game goes on, the dissonance between her mobility and attack range starts to get really obnoxious.

That makes no sense. Yeah her dash length doesn't increase, but as your range gets higher, you shouldn't even need your dash anymore. Now she gets to position her Wolf territory, so that even when she has higher range, Wolf can actually get in range to attack too.

And if you're that high-ranked and if orb-walking is really second nature, then having to orb walk (which you should already have been doing anyway) should absolutely not "end up hurting your attack speed and allowing enemies to constantly get out of your effect radius".

Lol wut? As a kindred main this is the change I believe kindred needed. After getting the first 4 stacks you should be able to kite anyone with ease. And no offense but if youre having issues sticking to a target while having increased ranged you are doing something wrong.

As a former Kindred main, I disagree. A buff was needed and most of her other changes are nice, the range isn't.

Can't please everyone apparently. Take away the bonus range and we're back to the issue kindred had before the rework. Good thing it will be staying, and ill enjoy my future kindred games. Their intent for kindred was to be a hyper carry marksmen for the jungle. With this range she can do that.

I've thought about this a lot, and at the end I disagree with the range buff.

I do not think Kindred should be a late game ADC. Because i don't think late game hyperscaling champions belong in the jungle.

The stacking mechanics as a whole should change to reflect a non-late-game stacking situation.

I.E. stacks should expire.

The unfortunate part of your opinion is that this is exactly what riot intended her to be. A hyper carry marksmen for the jungle

unfortunately i missed the "opinions on kindred" mega thread.

IMHO the changes to kindred are ideally these:

  1. marks expire. Not all at once, one at a time.
  2. marks last for around 5 min. duration is refreshed if you get another one.
  3. marks should probably give some early-mid game stat. maybe flat damage?
  4. kindred should have freedom to place wolf territory, that was a good change giving the character another skill vector.
  5. kindred should get better / more CC to gank better.
